Origin
Helena Harper is an United States Secret Service Agent, a former CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) agent, and formerly of the United States military. Although highly competent and skilled in many aspects of her career, she has also had a history of incidents regarding her impulsiveness and tendency to use excess force when dealing with suspects and criminals. In two specific situations, one which involved a murderer taunting relatives of the victim, and the other involving Helena's sister being the victim of domestic abuse, both would lead to Helena using physical violence against the two perpetrators. It would be these incidents that would also catch the attention of Derek C. Simmons, a member of the government, as the National Security Advisor. He would manipulate Helena by using her sister, leading her to sabotage the security of the President of the United States, Adam Benford for whom she was supposed to be safeguarding. This was not something she did lightly, but at Ivy University in Tall Oaks, where the President was visiting, Simmons plan was executed, and the President and many others were exposed to biological weapons, essentially turning them into zombies. Amidst the chaos, Helena's consciousness would flair and she would attempt to prevent the disaster. However only former Raccoon Police Department officer and current Secret Service Operative Leon Kennedy would believe her plea and offer to assist her.
The two would have to fight off a zombie outbreak as they headed to a church to find more information. They would discover that Neo Umbrella and Simmons were the main catalysts behind the attack. They would be aided in their efforts by Ada Wong, as Simmons had framed them, leaving their normal resources unavailable to them. They would also come across Agent Sherry Birkin and Jake Muller, who they would assist as well as be assisted by. The two would also come across Chris Redfield and his new partner Piers Morgan. Despite some initial tension arising on account of conflict between the two groups over what to do with Ada, both teams would eventually help each others efforts in stopping Simmons and his newly created zombie apocalypse.
