Helen Cho

Origin

Helen Cho was the late mother of Amadeus Cho and wife of Philip Cho. Not much is known about her history

Creation

Helen Cho was created by Greg Pak, Fred van Lente and Ryan Stegman and first appeared in Incredible Hercules issue 131 (2009).

Incredible Hercules

When Amadeus was 15, he won the Excello soap corporation's online quiz to find young geniuses, which promised a large cash prize. In reality, the quiz was a way for Pythagoras Dupree, a deranged and paranoid former child prodigy, to track down and eliminate potential young geniuses. He arranged for the Cho family to be killed in an explosion, though Amadeus and his younger sister Maddy managed to survive.

Sometime later, Helen and her husband were seen residing in peace in the Elysian Fields. They were reunited with Amadeus, and informed him that his sister was still alive.

Film

Avengers: Age of Ultron

Helen Cho appears in the film, portrayed by Claudia Kim. This version of the character is a world-renowned engineer and geneticist who assists the Avengers, as well as a friend of Bruce Banner.

In the movie, she develops a specialized process that creates artificial tissue to bond with the human body. Ultron later attacks Helen and uses the Mind Stone to force her to create a new body for him out of Vibranium and her synthetic tissue. Scarlet Witch undoes Ultron's brainwashing, allowing Helen to prevent Ultron from entering the new body. At the climax of the film, the synthetic body Cho developed is used to house the JARVIS AI, creating the Vision.

At the end of the movie, Helen is seen helping run the New Avengers compound in upstate New York.
