it was announced Antman will not be in Avengers 2: age of Ultron
Hank Pym
Character » Hank Pym appears in 3721 issues.
Hank Pym is a scientific genius, a founding member of the Avengers, the creator of Pym Particles and of Ultron, and a modern-day superhero who suffers from a Bipolar disorder. He has acted under many memorable identities such as Ant-Man, Giant Man, Goliath, Yellowjacket, and the Wasp. He is also the Earth's Scientist Supreme, as decreed by Eternity.
Antman wont be in Age of Ultron
Bet you Ironman makes Ultron
I heard that on facebook and CBR, it's horrible
Doesn't mean he can't make Ultron at the end of Ant-Man...
Joss Whedon said that we'll see Ultrons origin story in Avengers 2 though.
Bet you Ironman makes Ultron
Sadly this does seem likely to me.
@v_scarlotte_rose: Kind of makes you wish RDJ had walked doesn't it.
@joshmightbe: Yep. There are lots of Avengers in the comics, so characters leaving could just be replaced with others.
I would be fine with Iron Man not being there.
I feel like I should be more upset about this... after all, I do like Antman... but it doesn't actually bother me all that much. I'd even be totally fine with Tony Stark creating Ultron; frankly, I think that makes more sense within the Cinematic universe
Nuts. But I have been wanting to say aloud that that piece above by Paulo Rivera is unbelievably amazing.
@war_killer: Joss Whedon said so in a video interview. It's in this thread: http://www.comicvine.com/avengers/4060-3806/forums/joss-whedon-gives-details-about-avengers-age-of-ul-1479979/#18
Video won't play on the computer I'm correctly on... v__v
But even if Hank Pym isn't in the movie physically, that doesn't mean they couldn't still reference him in the movie as being the one who created the artificial intelligence of Ultron and have Tony being the one who weaponized it for S.H.I.E.L.D. or something. They did something similar in Avengers: EMH where both Hank and Tony designed Ultron together and could be what they plan to do here.
But I do think it needs to be taking into consideration that Avengers 2 is still more than a year away, meaning that things Whedon says now could very possible change in the coming months as they move forward with production.
NOOO!!
I love Antman, and it sucks that he hasn't been in any of the movies yet. He's a founding Avenger, he needs more screen!
@war_killer: Fair enough, but with his movie slated for after Avengers 2, there doesn't seem to be much hope for him.

Just because his movie is slated after Avengers 2 doesn't mean he can't appear before then. They could easily have him appear in Avengers 2, or simply reference him in the movie, which could lead into his solo film. Not to mention, even though I doubt they will, they could also make Ant-Man as a prequel. There were rumors with Hank Pym having been Ant-Man during like the 70s and with Scott Lang being the modern day Ant-Man, so there are many ways to have Hank Pym appear before his solo movie.
@war_killer: I know. It just sucks that they've been putting him off for so long.
And I never heard that 70's Antman theory. That would be cool to see.
