This article is kind of stupid.

For one, the author kind of just outright states that the main reason he wants John Stewart is because he's black. IMO, race should not be the determinative factor as to who gets cast.

Secondly, when he says that "one of the major DC superheroes onscreen would in-fact be played by a black actor" he's ignoring the fact that that's already a reality. Ray Fisher is playing Cyborg. Last time I checked, Ray Fisher and Cyborg were both African American.

Really hard to tell what his costume will be like. Obviously we have Hal with a hoodie now but I'd like to see the rest of the costume.

I'll will definitely be giving Green Lantern another try. I dropped off all GL books because of the amount of crossover stories they were having, so I am glad to hear the books will be more self contained now.

this is hal jordan we're talking about. he's all about the basics. he values simple yet functional over unnecessary creative constructs that accomplish the same thing. he's said so himself.

meh. It seems like every time when Hal isn't written well, writers usually take away his ring to try to make him more interesting by quitting, going rogue and other things. Honestly, I don't have much faith in Robert Venditti at the moment. I dropped his Flash title and now this title as well. But I do hope it'll be better than what he's done with the Green Lantern title in the past.

Aw, I missed you too. ;-). Plus I wouldn't be too fast and loose on calling out people on hating on a specific character if I were you. I'm not the one posting entire articles dedicated to diminishing a specific character in favor of another, just because you've now heard evidence that the the first character is getting the part over the second.

Also, please tell me exactly where my response to you "hated" on John Stewart? I said the article's main point was stupid. Essentially the only point the article has to make is "pick John Stewart because he's black and he'd be the only black superhero up on the screen." That premise is not only not a good premise in that its preferring John JUST on the basis of his skin color (and not what he'd contribute as an actual character), but its also just false. Like I said before, Ray Fisher (a black actor) is playing Cyborg (a black superhero) in the movie.

@teerack: Well I think that's just how Booth draws characters. It's also quite ugly looking (in my opinion).

Also in regard to another comment, I think DC is actually making the heroes outfits much less practical.

It's a good thing as a fugitive Hal has the sense to continue to wear green and the same mask.

Its not a bad look and I'm really interested in where Venditti is headed with this story he's done a solid job thus far. Although, I do hope he gets his ring back in the near future.

@teerack: The art looks to dark and underwhelming, but Barry's costume looks okay. I'm more interested in what Professor Zoom's costume would look like.

@saint_sophie: The gauntlet is a bit oversize, which could be why he's wearing a torn hoodie jacket to hide his weapon. I am surprised that Billy Tan done the art, considering most of his GL covers looks worst previously.

Now to address your comments of you finding everything I post to be foolish. Well that's your opinion and we all have those don't we? And in the grand scheme of it all, our opinions don't mean a god damn thing. Only facts do. All I've ever done is defend John Stewart against people who want to diminish his very existence as a fluke and worthless. I happen to make points and provide evidence to back up what I say so that people won't assume that I'm the only one saying it. However, I find that many times people never research anything that I'm saying, they just call me names and try to make me out to be some baffoon. But that's okay, you and I both know that no matter what I say it won't change anything. The only time Hal Jordan fans will ever listen to reason or even consider anything I say worth looking into, is if I say Hal is the world's greatest hero. The GL corps. is nothing without Hal and would have never been formed without him. There would be no Justice League without Hal, hell there would be no DC Comics without Hal. The only time you would give me any form of credit of perhaps there might be something to my claims is if I stroked your ego and stated hey everyone captainmarvel4ever is a genius and his superior intellect has me feeling less than a man. So if I said that would you consider that comment foolish as well and convince everyone that it's not true, even if it's at the expense of making you look good? The way I see it, unless I agree with everything you say and think the way that you do, then the way I see it every post I make will be foolish to you. With that said. You can make a final reply and I will read it but don't expect a reply back because what's the point.
