ok, so interested in the thoughts of GL fans on the current power levels of Hal Jordan and other Lanterns. During the run of Robert Vendetti, the Lanterns have had their butts handed to them by the likes of Orion in the Godhead story and now General Zod. In previous runs, Hal has been able to hold his own against the likes of Superman (and Kyle Ko'd Mongul, who is in Superman's league, in his first appearance), so do you think the Lanterns are less powerful than they used to be? Stories like Red Son and the Injustice Gods series have indicated that Kryptonians just have too much speed and power for a Green Lantern and the current GL comic would appear to endorse that.

@bezza1969: The New 52 was a period were GL were nerfed. their feats were unimpressive and they were generally weaker than other heroes. Rebirth has done a good job in getting Hal back to his Pre 52 levels.

It was revealed in the last issue that Zod and all the Kyptoninas were being amped by the fact that their planet is being surrounded two yellow suns. Making them much stronger. in the next issue it seems Hal is holding his own against Zod despite this and that Zod only won earlier due to Hal being caught by surprised.

Hal is much more powerful than he was during new52. He is going against amped Zod who is more powerful than Superman.

The OP makes some valid points and I agree. But Hal and John both have received more respect in this area fairly recently. Hal beat an amped General Zod under the power of two suns while John can now create Kryptonite (wondered when he learned that) and he can cut off oxygen from a person's brain. John's ring is also a tattoo on his finger as well. Weird.
