The Complete Red Rube: Gwandanaland Comics #323 -- His Full Series from Zip Comics #39-47 -- The Only Collection of Red Rube in Print!

104 PAGES - SUPERHEROES

Reuben Reuben is RED RUBE, fighter of Axis forces, defender of the weak and oppressed, and sometimes stumbling superhero. He has dedicated himself to “fight for what's right in the world,” and is especially focused on keeping the War effort on track. We've all heard the story before, orphan boy is aided by mystical forces who bestow upon him their powers and skills, and when he says the phrase he becomes a full-grown man and gains those powers. Let's not pretend – RED RUBE was as close to a Captain Marvel rip-off as is possible without getting sued (which Fawcett probably would have done if they weren't busy being sued themselves by the Superman people). Despite those similarities, RED RUBE brought his own brand of light-hearted evil-fighting justice-defending superheroism to the latter issues of Zip Comics (#39-47). This is the first and only complete collection of his Golden Age stories!
