The Blue Beetle: Volume 9: Gwandanaland Comics #1285 --- The Complete First Charlton Blue Beetle -- A Continuation of the Golden Age Blue Beetle Collection from Gwandanaland Comics
Dan Garrett studied archaeology in Egypt, when he found a magical scarab in the tomb of Kha-ef-Re. With this scarab and the words “Kaji Dha” he was endowed with superhuman strength, the ability to fly, and he could shoot lightning from his hands as BLUE BEETLE. This, the first Charlton version of the classic character, relied more on magic and mysticism than his Golden Age counterpart. He appeared from 1964-1967 before passing on his legacy to a third version of the BLUE BEETLE, which you can find in Volume 10. THE BLUE BEETLE remains one of the most enduring characters in comics, changing and evolving over the decades – and Gwandanaland Comics has the largest collection in print: 10 volumes, over 2500 pages of BLUE BEETLE action!
Please Note: In September, 2018, due to uncertainty about its public domain status, the publisher immediately and voluntarily pulled this book from their catalog.
