A Yarko The Great & Mr. Mystic Treasury Giant - Gwandanaland Comics #1003/1461 --- 500 pages Of The Masters Of Magic-- Will Eisner Creations!
500 Pages
YARKO THE GREAT had the perfect secret identity for a master of magic - - he was a magician. To the people who knew him, YARKO THE GREAT was a stage magician, a master of tomfoolery, someone who pretended to do magic.....while all the while, armed with actual magic powers, he fought against evil both man-made and supernatural. His skills included force field projection, duplication, shape-shifting, invisibility, intangibility, exorcism, telekinesis and more! Gwandanaland Comics brings you the largest and best-quality YARKO collection in print!
If YARKO reminds you at all of another Will Eisner creation, Mr. Mystic, it should – Mr. Mystic was a retooling of YARKO THE GREAT, who came first and was already a great series overseas!
MR. MYSTIC (aka “Ken” - last name unknown) received a magical tattoo on his forehead in Tibet. This imbued him with great powers, including changing his size and the ability to transform into animals, and when he came back to the USA he fought against crime and evil. Created by Will Eisner and drawn by Bob Powell, MR. MYSTIC was part of the first true Sunday comics section beginning in 1940. Despite the talents behind him and the great stories, by 1944 MR. MYSTIC was gone from the Sunday comics and unlike his co-stars never found his way back into the comics. This is the largest collection of MR. MYSTIC ever put together, a great treasury of select stories from his contribution to comic book history!
