After working as a journalist for 7 years, he meets Rene Goscinny and starts working for PIlote magazine. His first important series is Ian MacDonald, in 1969, then he becomes editor in chief of the magazine. He writes mainly realistic comic books for adults adressing historical and politic subjects: Les innocents d'El Oro, L'Ile aux chiens, Medecins sans frontieres, Les gringos, Pasee simple, Sang d'Armenie... He published books about Jean-Michel Charlier and Rene Goscinny
