I love Guy Gardner. He's probably my favorite of the green lanterns. I like what they've done to make him go from self-centered misogynist to self-centered misogynist with hidden depth.
" I love Ganthet and Guy! This was a great issue. "I don't like Guy that much but Ganthet is pretty cool.
Guy is prolly my fave green lantern i can understand why people don't like him BUT that comic is really good. Pretty soon you are going to have to read bc it interwines with the green lantern and green lantern corps series. IMO if you are deciding not to get it bc u don't like guy and you are just on "OMG HAL IS THE BEST" mode u should get off that high horse and get the comic. Also who would pass up the opportunity to get to see more of atrocitus? And ofc the main man ganthet. Like he said its a good read and lots of entertaining stuff. =D
"I never used to like Guy, but since Rebirth he's really grown on me. "
Wow I agree with Tony, Surprisingly, as negative as his review is, he gave it about the same score I did. I'm glad when we agree.... :)
Guy > Hal
You know it to be true, search in your hearts!
And yes, I really enjoyed the issue myself. I kind of like the idea of the Lanterns going on exploration missions to catalogue the uncharted sectors of space. You know between the red lantern, Ganthet and Guy there will be some major adventures and in-fighting between them.
Looking forward to more of it!
Guy gardner kind of remind's me of marvel's U S Agent. They are both anti-heros to hal jordan and Captain America.
I didn't pick it up(not a Guy fan at all, there seems to be a lot of us) but I glanced at it on the shelf and watched this and I have to say, I am intrigued by the "exploration of the unknown sectors of space" theme.
P.S. Keep the solo reviews coming G-Man.
As a green lantern fan i must say that this issue was effin' GOLD!
This is what the GL and GLC should be. But nooooooo, Instead Johns is having Hal drown in a blasted rainbow of lanterns and GLC is just a big fat bore!
You Go Tomasi, Take Guy to new Heights! 4.8 on myscale
My fundamental problem with this issue is that we still don't what this mission is. Normally that wouldn't bother me and I'd enjoy the mystery, but in this case it's a crucial flaw. The very core of the story is Guy Gardner and the sacrifices he's making. We're supposed to empathize with and become engrossed in Guy's emotional journey. The problem is that it's impossible to emotionally connect to Guy's sacrifice when we have no idea what the sacrifice is.
Guy Gardner is great. He's more exciting than boring Jon Stewart, he is less pretentious than Hal, and he is funnier than Kyle.Needless to say he is my fav Earth based lantern and of course I am interested in this story regardless.Charting new sectors seems like daunting task though you'd think they would send more than one lantern but what ever I'm hooked.
