    Guy de Lusignan (c. 1150 - 1194) was a French Knight. He married Sibylla, a heiress to the throne of Jerusalem. The couple became co-rulers of Jerusalem in 1186. Overeager to prove his worth, Guy led his army to the disastrous Battle of Hattin against Saladin in 1187. Most were killed or captured. Guy was captured but released. He became King of Cyprus from 1192 to 1194. His dynasty would reign to 1489.
