Marvel Television and Disney XD announced the all-star voice cast for new animated-television series "MARVEL’S GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY!” Will Friedle, Kevin Michael Richardson, Trevor Devall, Vanessa Marshall, David Sobolov, and James Arnold Taylor will star in the series, premiering in 2015 on Disney XD.

“The cast for the new GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY animated series has all of us at Marvel animation very excited. These are some of the best, boldest and funniest voices in the business,” said Marvel’s VP, Current Animation, Stephen Wacker. “All of us here at Marvel Animation Studios are working around the clock to bring you an over-the-top, action-packed show worthy of the biggest film of 2014. We can't wait for you to see it!”

Will Friedle (“Boy Meets World,” “Kim Possible”) will voice PETER QUILL AS STAR-LORD, the brash adventurer who, to save the universe from its greatest threats, joins forces with a quartet of disparate misfits. Trevor Devall (“Johnny Test”) will voice fan-favorite ROCKET RACOON, Kevin Michael Richardson (“The 7D,” “The Cleveland Show”) plays tree-like humanoid, GROOT, Vanessa Marshall (“The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy,” “Star Wars Rebels”) voices the enigmatic, expert fighter GAMORA and David Sobolov (“Robocop: Alpha Commando,” “Transformers Prime”) plays the rough-edged warrior DRAX THE DESTROYER. Rounding out the cast is James Arnold Taylor (“Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.,” “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”), who will voice COSMO and YONDU.

Groot and Drax voices are good. Holding my opinion on Gamora. Need to hear more of Rocket and Cosmo but wasn't impressed with what the latter. Didn't like what I saw of Starlord.

My feelings exactly. MAU focuses too much on setting up jokes and completely fails to manage any kind of meaningful plot. They're trying to imitate the tone of the movies with 22 minute chunks and it just doesn't work. They should just take notes from the old Justice League/Unlimited cartoons.

It doesn't help that all the jokes feel forced and/or are lame and every confrontation feels meaningless and it greeted with unnecessary violence. Yes, they should take notes from other successful cartoons but as long as the mindless kids are having a good time that's all that matters.

Seriously, Phineas and Ferb did more justice to the characters than their own shows. Need I also mention the Jessie crossover?

I really hope that this will be good. If its something similar to what Star Wars: Rebels is, then we have a real winner here

I'm hoping that just because its a cartoon doesn't mean it's plot has to be done according the lowest possible denominator. Kids aren't dumb, they'll notice bad plots just as well as adults, well those around 10-12 anyway. The younger ones rarely care as long they get to see their favourites.

This is a solid cast, and Kevin Michael Richardson does a good job voicing Groot...Looking forward to this.

Not all the time. Sometimes if the joke is appropriate then it makes people laugh. If it's inconvenient and just inserted there for the sake of trying to be funny, then well..
