GL and Scarlet Speedsters are BFFs

The Dual pairings start to parody the more this issue advances.  The path of friendship between Kyle and Wally is a race between how fast Alan and Jay became friends and how fast they can become friends too.  Alan and Jay were not the best of friends from the beginning and the flashbacks in this issue enforces that.  Even with Kyle and Wally rivaling, this mission to save Earth from a brood of hive-minded aliens becomes a fast track to friendship.

This half of the story I thought was more daring, then what Ron Marz did in the first half.  Mark Waid and Brian Augustyn play off the dual nature of this themed story.  I especially like the concept of wearing the other mans shoes. The method of switching Kyle and Wally was very cleaver and a nice revile at the end of the story.

Part of the Legacy of Flash and GL is the friendship that is mirrored in each pairing.  This is an early story of a forgotten pairing, of Kyle and Wally, with Hal Jordan and Barry Allen back in the DCU.  This story is a good read for fans who like either The Flash or GL or both.  By having two generations (old and new) of the Flash and GL, this story becomes a timeless tale on why both The Flash and GL becomes friends.  They become friends because they always compliment the other.

This comic was collected with the first half in DC Comics Presents: The Flash/Green Lantern.
    Cheers
