    King Kyle 0

This comic is on of my favorite New 52 titles. I LOVE IT!!! The first issue was great and this second issue was NOT a letdown.Just in case you didn't read the first issue, (don't worry, this isn't a spoiler) Green Lantern Kyle Rayner has suddenly become a power ring-magnet. Issue one ended with Kyle being chosen by a ring from each the other ring corps as their new ring bearer, but had yet to put any of them on.As soon as I finished the first issue, I was hoping that Kyle would actually get to p...

    Doing better Bland Bedard 0

We are still left with the question of what's going on with the rings, but we have some moving forward with the plot.Usually I would be like "The guardians aren't acting right" but in this case the Guardians haven't been acting properly for a bit now so it does work in this case.there are several problems throughout the book, but on the whole it's an average book, but above average book for this week.Problems...#1. The art is weird and sometimes it looks cool and other times it's just ugly#2. Th...

    Gabby little things 0

As opposed to the first issue this is one I would characterize as much more action based, and while it feels kind of necessary after the developments of the first issue, there is really not a lot of plot or characterization going on in this issue.  The action mostly follows Kyle as he is being attacked by Arkillo, Fatality and Bleez so that they can retrieve the rings.  This I thought was handled fairly well especially some of the dialogue.  When saint Walker shows up the pair head to Oa with th...

Welcome to the _____ Corps 0

When I first started reading Green Lantern comics about a year ago I always thought the only lantern that I would ever find myself caring for would be Hal Jordan. Kyle Rayner has always been a close second to Jordan, but for me personally he never seemed to have the exact same presence that Jordan did. With the release of Green Lantern New Guardians it seems like I may soon be developing a new appreciation for Rayner. Green Lantern New Guardians #2 leaves off where the last issue did and where W...

New Guardians gives us more questions...and a sweet new outfit 0

Green Lantern New Guardians enters its second chapter as Kyle Rayner only narrowly makes it out of the sticky situation he was left in last chapter only to end up in another one at the end of the issue. Its a good issue to be sure, but suffers a bit from being a single part of one of those "meant for trade" kind of stories, and as a result, I can't help but be left with wanting more. But again, that's not to say that this issue's no good.As always Bedard does a fine job writing Kyle Rayner, who ...

And yet DC still insists on giving Hal Jordan the spotlight 0

This is my first review as a member of comic vine. As a writer and a lover of comics I've decided give some of the titles in the new 52 a shot. I've decided on four specific titles that will act as my "measuring stick" if you will: Aquaman, Green Lantern: New Guardians, Justice League: International and Green Arrow. What I hope to accomplish is to give people some recommendations for the new titles and try to form my overall opinion on the relaunch as a whole. This week I've picked up JLI #3, Gr...

New Stuff in New Guardians 1

The Good: The cover's all right, it's got a good spread of all the characters balanced out surprisingly well, with Kyle nearly squished at the bottom, overcome by the weight of all the elements above him. I'm amused by Arkillo's yellow ring talking for him. It was almost a cop out at first, but then led to some surprisingly hilarious dialogue later on. The dynamic building is a pretty interesting one. It's DEFINITELY nothing like the 'New Guardians' of Blackest Night and Brightest Day, and we've...

    Fairy God-Father 0

Hey so after the first issue (#1 review), I was pretty excited to see what Bedard and Kirkham had in store for us next.Good:We pick off right where we left off from issue#1, and this time there's a lot more action. The art is great in my opinion, although it seems indecisive as to weather or not we can see Kyle's pupils (which appear to be blue now as opposed to green as they where prior to the NEW52). We also get a better idea of the kinda relation Ganthet has with Kyle, and with Saint Walker; ...

    Kyle is the man! 0

Summary and Scans can be viewed hereThe GoodCover- Simple and elegant best describes this colorful (no pun intended) art piece showcasing Kyle Rayner flanked by Saint Walker (blue lantern), Fatality (pink Lantern), Bleez (red lantern) etc on a starry sky background.Art-Tyler Kirkham is joined by Harvey Toliboa this issue and strangely they work magic together. Sure you can tell when one artist does more work than the other on a particular page but for the most part everything looks good!Characte...

Continues from last comic well 0

The New 52 is meant to make DC more accessible for new readers, and I say it has based off this comic.During the fight, each lantern corps demonstrates their unique qualities, from Indigo channeling to Red firebreath and Star Sapphire Crystal. Also shown was the Blue Lantern Corps...one of my personal favorites. It also has despair....with Ganthet being reduced to an emotionless state by his brothers.R.I.P Ganthet....the guardians will pay!...

Newness In The Emotional Spectrum 0

The action in this book pushes you further into a greater story about all of the Lantern Corps and the Emotional Spectrum. A great selection of lanterns to take part in this story. The spotlight is on Kyle Rayner as he has to deal with an issue that is plaguing him that he does not understand. ...
