Darn that Sinestro! 3

Cover:  Excellent art that displays exactly what is going on with regard to the storyline.  Randy Mayor's art creates a great feel for what you hope to expect in this epic conclusion, and in this one rare exception I actually prefer his art to Ed Benes'! Shocking!    Story:  Well now, it seems that the truce between Sinestro Corps and Green Lantern Corps has raised the stakes in favor of the warriors of fear.  Still, they face some powerful nemesis in the Qwardian Thunderers and the weapons the...

Review: Green Lantern Corps #57 0

It's the final battle between the Weaponer and Sinestro. Who will triumph?  The Good This story has been a lot of fun and very revealing about Sinestro's past and where his ring came from. It's the final battle, and it's on an epic scale. One of my favorite things from this issue was the constructs that Sinestro creates. It's very imaginative, and if it were actually real, it would be incredibly creepy. The Weaponer has quickly become one of my favorite non-lantern characters in t...

The Weaponer Gets An Appropriate New Weapon 6

Tony Bedard brings his second story arc to a strong end, though it suffers a little from an unnecessary tie-in to Brightest Day that really adds nothing to the story.  This issue is heavy on the action as the Sinestro Corps go at it against the Qwardians with our cast of Green Lanterns stuck in the middle. Bedard has to juggle the action somewhat awkwardly to maintain the truce between the Sinestro Corps and Green Lantern Corps, which does complicate things a little more than is enjoyable, but i...

Weaponer Conclusion! 0

I don't usually read GLC although I should because Kyle Rayner is my favorite Green Lantern but I'll start reading now. Art: Tyler Kirkhams art is really really good. The cover art is amazing and one of the main reasons I bought the book. Writing is Amazing too I haven't read the preivious issues but if there as good as this I might have to get this too. I have read a few other Bedard books  and think he might be the next Geoff Johns. Badz; the resolution is a bit lame butshocking can't wait to ...

Qward doesn´t want you 0

It´s the conclusion of the arc story "The Weaponer" and this was an excellent display of how a creative change does wonders to a comic  book. I have nothing against Syaf´s art, he´s very good, but the vibe that Kirkham transmits through this series is awesome, it´s a totally different energy. I really liked this arc story mostly because of the character of the Weaponer himself, because I like a lot this kind of character that looks for revenge, not only vendetta, but to recover honor, he was an ...

Fire in the sky 0

After a mostly good buildup, this story arc finishes not quite as well as it should have.  A series that lives by action suitably depends on it for its success, and while the action here is fun there is little which is especially groundbreaking.  With a relatively average level of action there series thus depends on the plot, which also leaves a little wanting.  The interjection of Firestorm does not really make sense, and other than the ultimate resolution of the story, there is not much here t...
