Green Lantern Corps # 36
In the last issue it was revealed that Sinestro is Green Lantern Soranik Natus father. Most of their conversation at the beginning of this issue is a father-daughter revelation type thing, with Sinestro revealing that he had given up Soranik to protect her from those that threatened him and his family. He tells her that he has always been watching her, disguising himself as others to be near to her without revealing himself. He even branded his secret family coat of arms onto her face (the two little upside down triangles on her left cheek) and hid a transmitter in her skin so he would always know where she was. He says that he is proud of her and all that she has accomplished. He warns her of the Red Lanterns knowledge of his daughter and (very father like) tells her to contact him if she needs to.
Part 2 of this issue is scenes of the escalating war on Oa. The fight has now moved beyond the sciencells and is engulfing the whole planet and lives are being rapidly lost on both sides. Meanwhile on Daxam, Mongul has begun creating a Planet to space weapon defense system that would keep the GL from reaching the planet. He also comissions a big statue to be built of him. Sodam Yat(Ion) attacks him in an attempt to kill him and disrupt his Corps activity. He requests to tap into his Ion power but is denied because of"Guardian interface with Power Ring" and is informed that the only way for him to access it is to take off his ring.Mongul blasts him and he absorbs the blast gaining a percentage of his Ion powers. He then flys into space, removes his ring, and apparently flys into the sun. Emerald Eclipse Continues!
