    tales of the marine corps

This issue was a little dissapointing it just seamed like a way for the writers to say "here's John see we do care about him." it does not even try to futher the plot of blackest night in the green lantern story it does however give a back story of John when he was in the marine corps (not throughout the whole issue). The action scenes (though few) are kinda nice this issue did a good job of making John a bad ass but it still felt like an unnessary story. My bigest problem with the whole story is that it fells like it should have belong in one of those tales of the corps tie-ins, towards the end it even has a tales of the black lantern corps. i don't recomend this picking up this issue unless your either a huge fan of John and have bin wondering what he was doing throughout blackest nights or you are collecting every thing blackest night. lets hope 50 is better

While reading through the entire Blackest Night story arc of Green Lantern this issue stood out to me. It was not about Hal Jordan, but instead about John Stewart. While nothing to move the overall Blackest Night story happened we got a closer look at the backstory of John. We see him deal with and overcome his inner fears and its an interesting journey. We see him as a soldier where you get  closer look at his character and motivation. He battles some Black Lanterns by creating an army of ...
