    Issue Tagline: Beware the Javelin, My Son!

    Hal Jordan is back on earth after his year exile in space, and his first stop is his love Carol Ferris's house. She greets him with a hug and takes him over to the new LA branch of Ferris Airlines. While there Carol introduces Hal to Bruce Gordon, who is working on a new type of engine. The engine uses willpower to fly a plane.

    Ferris air also employs Tom Kalmaku, who is also working on the will power plane, but he need one critical part. Meanwhile else where the Javelin has stolen that part and is making a get away when Hal is alerted to the thief. He chases down the Javelin but the villain uses a yellow ink javelin and Hal is left falling to his death.
