    Peril Of The Yellow World!

Hal Jordan, a test pilot for Ferris Aircraft, takes his boss, Carol Ferris, for a drive in the mountains. Jordan is momentarily blinded by a windblown newspaper, as he speeds into a dangerous curve. Jordan manages to navigate the curve, despite the obfuscation of his vision. Over dinner, Jordan reflects on two similar strange occurrences, both of which imperiled his life. Jordan cuts his date, with Ferris, short, to investigate the matter, as the Green Lantern.

Suspecting his nemesis, Sinestro, is behind his troubles, the Green Lantern journeys to the last known location of the renegade Green Lantern. As suspected, Sinestro has escaped his most recent imprisonment. Competing for the annual "Evil Citizen of Qward" award, Sinestro, to his dismay, finds himself trailing Gypo-Bax. Sinestro concocts a new scheme to murder the Green Lantern, one which will surely see a surge in his standings. En route to Qward, the Green Lantern spies Sinestro leaving Qward.

The Green Lantern pursues. Sinestro travels faster, and faster, with the Green Lantern rapidly closing in on him. Sinestro reaches such an incredible velocity that he breaks through a dimensional barrier, leading to Gryx, an entirely yellow world. As the Green Lantern breaks through the dimensional barrier, he immediately loses all power. Sinestro reveals how he escaped his last imprisonment. Sinestro uses his power ring to convince the population of Gryx that the Green Lantern is their mortal enemy.

Sinestro returns to his home dimension, secure in the knowledge that the population of Gryx will do his dirty work for him. The Green Lantern fights a desperate battle for his life, running and hiding from the inhabitants of Gryx. On Qward, Sinestro sets up a monitor screen, so the Qwardian's can watch the Green Lantern's imminent death. Gypo-Bax slowly comes to the realization that none can outdo Sinestro in matters of evil. The Green Lantern is driven to the very edge of a cliff.

The transmission waves of Sinestro's broadcast create a purple haze on Gryx. Stepping into the haze, allows the Green Lantern's power ring to function. The Green Lantern, riding the transmission wave, escapes from Gryx. The Green Lantern tracks the broadcast back to Qward, and apprehends Sinestro. The Green Lantern re-imprisons Sinestro, compensating for the renegade Green Lantern's former method of escape. The Green Lantern returns to Earth, and, as Jordan, continues his courtship of Ferris.

    Zero Hour In Rocket City!

Thomas Kalmaku, an engineer for Ferris Aircraft, writes down the Green Lantern's latest case, in his journal. Hal Jordan, a test pilot for Ferris Aircraft, had been tasked with bringing a vital piece of technology to Cape Canaveral. After delivering the part, Jordan was escorted around "Rocket City", by Doctor Deaton. A rash of thefts, credited to the Rocket Robbers, had been plaguing Rocket City.

While the citizens of Rocket City were distracted by rocket launches from Cape Canaveral, the Rocket Robbers would strike. During one such launch, Jordan spied the Rocket Robbers, and went into action, as the Green Lantern, despite the fact that his power ring's charge was spent. Nonetheless, the Green Lantern had just about subdued the Rocket Robbers, with no more than his bare fists, when the getaway driver took him at gunpoint.

By reflex, the Green Lantern used his power ring to vaporize the bullets. With the Rocket Robbers turned over to the authorities, the Green Lantern solved the mystery of his power ring's impossible charge. Unbeknownst to Jordan, his clock had stopped at 2:00 p.m., so that it was actually 3:00 p.m. when he charged his power ring. Thus, Jordan still had a full hour's charge on the power ring, at the point when he thought the charge had run out.
