Another beginning that's not really a beginning!

    Green Lantern #1

This is one of those new DC titles where the creators will say "some stories will change while others won't!" Well then what's the point of this reboot! I feel like mostly nothing's changed! So this issue DIRECTLY follows the events of War of the Green Lanterns. Do you have to read those issues to understand what's going on here? NO. We focus mainly on how Hal's dealing with not being a lantern anymore. He's still over his head with anything he does because he doesn't truly realize that he's not a green lantern anymore. Sinestro is dealing with being a green lantern once again. He doesn't want to. Ganthet goes against the main decision of the guardians to let Sinestro be a green lantern again, and then he is attacked by the guardians GASP! The issue ends with Sinestro telling Hal that he will try and get him his ring back.

    The GOOD!

What's great about this issue is that it's understandable for everyone including new readers even though it continues from a major story arc. I really love how Geoff Johns follows both Sinestro and Hal in this issue because they were affected the most. I liked seeing how Hal has handled not being Green Lantern and how it affects his life. Sinestro was very cool in this issue because of some thing he does for his planet, I'll let you see that for yourself. Ganthet being attacked by the Guardians was cool but I feel like it's been a conflict long awaiting. He's always been the odd one in the group. So there is a lot of different things going on in this issue that make a perfect roadway for the next couple of issues.

Art: I've always liked Doug Mahnke's work on Green Lantern, so him working on this new series REALLY makes it seem not so new. But nonetheless I love his art work.

    The BAD!

What I find bad about this issue is how is it going to tie in with the rest of the new DC universe? I mean when does this story take place? Is it in the present? Because Justice League #1 took place a couple of years ago and Hal was a green lantern then so is what happened there building up to what's happening here? I mean there's just a lot of confusion going on. I was hoping for at least some alteration in this New Green Lantern, but that's not here.

    The VERDICT!

This was a very good issue! If you've been reading Green Lantern all along then you already bought this. But if you've never read the previous green lantern series then I still say pick it up! 4 out of 5!

Carol's Continued Interest in Hal Makes Me Think Less of Humanity 0

While not much of a first issue, Green Lantern continues Geoff Johns' historic run without missing a beat as Sinestro wields the green power ring and Hal Jordan... kicks around acting like a jerk, mostly. To begin with, this issue really doesn't do anything to try to welcome new readers. This is a seamless transition from where Johns left off in the previous volume of Green Lantern, and without the number change, you probably would have no idea this was written as the beginning of anything. Sinestro A Green Lantern Again 0

The Story:Sinestro is allowed to perform duties as a Green Lantern by the Guardians Of The Universe. Hal Jordan is broke and can't afford to pay his past due rent. He is arrested and bailed out by Carol Ferris who offers him a job.My Thoughts:It's only fitting that Geoff Johns would be writer of this new Green Lantern series. He's received a lot of hate as of late but he still remains one of my favorite writers. I didn't read the last Green Lantern story arc but it didn't make it real difficult ...
