If you've been keeping up with the CW's 'Arrow' then you have likely seen the slew of DC character appearances since the show first launched on October 10th, 2012. In addition to faces we've already seen like Deadshot, Deathstroke and the Huntress there are plenty more characters we've seen in the comics that have already been confirmed for the show (Roy Harper, for example).

    No Caption Provided

And as nice as it is to know there are plenty of new faces we can expect to catch on 'Arrow,' there are some we won't be seeing; namely, Batman and Wonder Woman. In a recent interview, CW President Mark Pedowitz revealed that the 'Caped Crusader' won't be making his way to the small screen in a CW series, nor will he be making his way to Starling City.

[In regards to a CW Batman television adaptation] At this time, no. And regarding your next question, regarding is Batman going to make a trip to [Arrow’s] Starling City, they’re not in the same state.

We thought that was a clever way of indicating that these two characters, although they may live in the same cinematic universe, won't be interacting on the small screen. In regards to the Wonder Woman series that has been rumored, both she and Arrow can exist in the same universe, but that doesn't mean they will interact. The producer also confirmed that with the right script and casting choice for Diana, this show will at the very least see a pilot.

If we get the right script and the right casting, we’ll go right forward to pilot.

There is the question of what this means for the rumored Justice League movie. If Diana will appear on the small screen, will her character be incorporated into a big screen production? What do you think of the news? Do you think Batman should have his own CW live-action series, or do you think he should remain off limits? Do you hope to see a Wonder Woman CW series in the future, and if so, who would you cast for the role of Diana? And should she and Arrow interact?

Makes sense to me. It's the same reason he didn't appear on Smallville, he's too popular, he would have overshadowed Clark.

I never thought we'd see Batman in this show under these current conditions and now it's been confirmed.

They should just let Adam West be Batman again. That'd rake in a load of money.

I'm not really surprised. If Batman didn't make any appearances in Smallville (one of the few that didn't show in that series) is less likely that he would show a a guest character in the show of his less-awesome copycat.

There is nothing here to officially confirm he will not appear in the next seasons of Arrow. ''At this time'' means not right now but maybe in season 5 or so.

I'm not at all surprised by this. A better question would have been, "Can we expect to see members of the Batman Family on Arrow?" Not only does that include Bruce, but also Dick, Barbara, Jason, Tim, Steph, Cass and Damian. I am holding out hope to see one of those characters make an appearance.

Well, I was speaking purely on the show, the writers didn't want Batman to be on, because he would outshine Clark, same went for WW. I expected him to be in the comic though.

Aren't there enough casting threads for Wonder Woman already? If she isn't in the Justice League Movie, I won't go see it. If any of the 6 members aare missing from this film I will not go see it. What's with these questions at the end of the article. . . .

It seems like DC is trying to build familiarity for mainstream audiences with TV shows instead of movies like Marvel does. That is a risky strategy but Smallville was pretty good and so is Arrow, even if they aren't all that close to the comics.

I'm sorry imo thats crap, if your going to use a lot of his supporting cast, then at least have a cameo appearence. And as far as him not showing up on Smallville, there was a bat embargo going on due to the movies. So that was justified, this is not. I say we get to see Batman at least once, or take away EVERY bat character in the show. And see how well it does...

I've watched the show weekly (up to now)

It wouldn't make sense to throw Batman in. They've been trying to keep the characters they introduce as "real" as they can, with realistic back-stories and what-not, but I find that they tend to re-write them to fit the show. Which is great! It add a new/fresh twist to characters like Huntress or Deathstroke. I can't imagine them doing the same for Batman. There wouldn't be enough maneuvering room for the writers.

I don't think it should be shocking OR disappointing that they aren't going to be interacting with Diana or Bruce. Sticking to smaller characters works with the way the show runs.

No complaints from me in regards to this "announcement".

All they said was they're not in the same state. So? Bats has numerous ways to get around and could even just show up as Bruce Wayne for an episode and have Oliver get help from a mysterious caped figure. Not really show Batman, but make him a lot more stealthy and working more in the shadows so you don't really see him. That'd be awesome.

I thought this was a no brainer that Batman would never show up on Arrow. If DC didn't want to sully Batman's reputation by having him show up opposite Superman on Smallville, why on earth would they throw him into a show about Green Arrow.

I'm happy if they don't bring any main DC heroes into the Arrow TV show the reason is they would out shine the show's main character I mean come on. Batman would thrash anything Green arrow has or done. Same with Wonder Woman or Superman or The Flash or Green lantern no offense to Arrow fans but he is a b to c list hero and always will be even Nightwing is bigger than Green Arrow and would out shine GA. So I say leave Arrow with his C and d list crowd of characters.

On a cheerier note, I would like to see maybe a small amount of Martian Manhunter in Arrow, he could come in as his human police officer role then shape-change as a crazy cliff-hanger ending to one of the episodes. This would make me a very happy girl XD

I don’t understand why DC is always so afraid to but batman on our TV screens. I mean we did see him

very briefly in Birds of Prey, but not in Smallville where it would have made most

sense. Bludhaven has been made referenced to in Arrow so I still have hopes for

    a Nightwing appearance.

Batman should be off limits. Especially when it comes to the CW. Arrow is a good show but they've been executing some of the characters rather dryly. Ex. The Royal Flush Gang was lame and he killed Deadshot in like two seconds. I don't think they're confident enough to pull off Batman yet. Maybe some of the other bat family members. Preferably one of the Robins.

I can see why Bats won't be a part of it but still, kinda sucks regardless. Show needs a massive pick-me-up anyway if you ask me and including Bruce or Bats would be good for it...either that or more Deathstroke airtime.

They have already made Arrow too similar to Batman. It wouldnt work without absolutely making Arrow look like a Batman rip off in viewers eyes.
