Do any of you watch arrow? I've seen all the episodes so far, and think they're fantastic. Really well done, and incorporating locations and characters was well done as well. What do you guys think?
Green Arrow
Character » Green Arrow appears in 4302 issues.
Oliver Queen was a spoiled, thrill-seeking playboy, until he was left stranded on a deserted island for several years. There, he trained to become a master archer in order to survive. After his return home, he used his new-found skills and his wealth to became the costumed vigilante known as Green Arrow.
Arrow anyone?
Arrow is really cool. It made me want to read Green Arrow comics, but I didn't like the new 52 GA series. Arrow looks so much like Batman Begins.
Yes, I love the show. Haven't disliked a single episode, which is way more than I can say for Smallville with its crazy highs and lows.
I've seen every episode as well and its one of my favorite series. The only thing I can say is that I would like Oliver to be a little more cocky. Make some smart jokes. They barely show that side of him.

Have you tried Lemire's run? It started in issue 17 and has been beyond fantastic so far.

I think they will begin to show that much later, first they have to show full transformation, just my guess.
Im really loving it. The episodes have been consistently good and the Island flashbacks have been consistently amazing! Manu Bennet as Slade is just too awesome. That being said I really hope they bring in some more DC heroes at some point. I understand that the first season is mainly for build up of Oliver's character and main villains but starting in season 2 they should bring in some guest heroes as well. My #1 pick would be the Question if they can get some good effects for his mask and make him as cool as he was in JLU. Also maybe branch out to bring superpowers into the show. I know that the show has been decently grounded in reality but hey they have shown ARGUS and that S has to stand for something lol
Can't wait till Roy Harper turns into the Red Arrow
Gonna be calling it 'Arrows' by the next season for sure.. lol not kidding..
^__^
@reefermadness: I'm looking forward to how they adapt Snowbirds don't fly. Heroin addiction is a little too "on the nose (or vein, har har)" for a CW show. The vertigo drug is much more ambiguous and relevent today.
@smashbrawler: I'm brazilian and we're only in issue 11
@flaming_weasel: Oh. Well, I guess you should keep your eyes open for issue 17 when it comes out. Trust me, it's great.
Biggest problem for me is that all of the villains are cliche and one-dimensional. Even the more colorful villains like Deadshot and Deathstroke are completely lacking in personality (with the exception of Vertigo and possible Huntress) or any sort of depth. Aside for that, I enjoy the show.

You kind of forgot Malcolm Merlyn. IMO he is better than most movie villains.

Fair enough. They've dedicated more time to Malcolm's character than they have more other villains. But I still feel like I'm getting a bit of a cliched "my wife was murdered by this city so now I'm going to take control of it" sort of story that hasn't really explored the situation on a personal level with Malcolm. Plus, I can't help but feel like Malcolm only exists so that he can die someday and have Tommy take up his mantle. Just my prediction so it very well could turn out false but I feel like that's the direction they're shooting for (bad pun intended).
The first episode aired in Australia last night and I really enjoyed it.
It's Smallville meets Batman Begins, but it's an entertaining show from what I've seen.
Love this show. Question for everyone with Green Arrow comic knowledge, did deathstroke spend time on the island or did they insert him for dramatic effect?

I hope they don't kill him off! John Barrowman is the best actor on the show!!! Really hoping we find out who trained Malcolm though *cough* Ra's *cough*
I'm a bit behind on Arrow compared to you people from the US. But i'm loving it so far, attempting to avoid too many spoilers :p
Currently my only show i follow religiously :)
Arrow is fantastic! Easily one of my favourite shows on tv currently alongside Supernatural! Just keeps getting better and better!
The show is really good even despite how much it's ripped off Bats. I want it to be fall already just to see what happens next. I'm really hoping we get to see Oliver get some more gadgets...maybe an "Aero-Cycle"...anybody ;) I also really hope we get to see Connor Hawke...maybe if Sarah is still alive o.O...but of course I know Connor probably won't come in to play till much much later.
Bring on season 2!
Yeah Connor Hawke would be tight. Also hoping to see more parkour action next season. And of course, Deathstroke (the fanboy in my is hoping they throw in Lady Shiva just cause)
@war_killer: Me too.
how is he batman. I know his history but I don't read his comics. so elaborate.
I love the show but Arrow is almost a complete rip-off Nolan's Batman.
Here are the similarites.
>High-tech cave used to thwart criminals
>In love with District Attorney
>Using the front of being a socialite to deflect from being a vigilante
>The fact both the hood and Batman are hunted down by the police
>While The Hood and Lance don't get along their relationship is quite similar to Batman and Gordon in that they relay information to eachother that is considered 'off the books'
>Both spent years away in foreign nations learning their craft
>Both have a habit of dissapearing when in conversation with other characters.
>Both show a relative lack of interest in their deceased fathers' billion dollar companies.
>Both make up elaborate excuses as to why they need the help of tech specialists in Fox and Felicity.
That's just some I've noticed so far and the final episodes are incredibly similar to Spiderman (2002) with the relationship between Ollie, Malcom and Tommy. Ollie is in love with Tommy's girlfriend like Peter was in love with MJ who was Harry's GF. Tommy's dad becomes Ollie's arch nemesis as did Harry's dad as Green Goblin for Spiderman and in the finale battle in both cases, the hero beats the villain by impaling them using their own weapons against them.
