    Who Shot Ya?

Since the event that is known as Brightest Day has taken effect, certain characters, events, and even places have been rejuvenated thanks to this massive collaboration of writers and artists. This new volume of Green Arrow is definitely one of its positive contributions from Brightest Day. Now, with a cover of the Emerald Archer possibly seeing his last days as a man alive, will this mark his end? Grab your quivers, and join me as I review Green Arrow #3.

    The Good

Ever since J.T. Krul has taken on the task of writing the adventures of Oliver Queen since the tragedy of Cry For Justice, he has always constantly hit the mark in depicting Oliver Queen's adventures, and his inner dialogue is easily some of the most refreshing that you can stumble upon. In this particular situation, with an arrow in Green Arrow's head, Krul makes a very interesting script, despite the obvious happening in the issue. It's very easy to admire how he uses Green Arrow's previous history in order to fully understand his emotions. Awaiting his impending demise, a new character steps in the fray.

This character is known by the name of Galahad, and while it is odd to see a character that easily reminisces the knight that was in King Arthur's court, it nevertheless is a refreshing dynamic, and will no doubt be one of Green Arrow's Merry Men as it was hinted in Issue #1. This issue also explores the rocky relationship between Oliver's parents, Moira and Robert Queen. While it obviously alludes that their relationship was not harmonious, at best, it does bring an added curiosity as how the fallout between Ollie's parents can suddenly have a connection to Isabel Rochev. Interesting story plots aside, the art team of Diogenes Neves and Vicente Cifuentes is immediately astonishing, not one single panel in this book feels or looks uninteresting. Through Ollie's flashbacks, the current assassination of Star City officials, the solitary epiphany of Isabel Rochev, and even the magnificence of the forest's powers in Star City, the art team on this book has captured visual magnificence.

    The Bad

Only gripe I have with this issue? Why did Oliver Queen have to be shown as a man that died when it clearly shows the opposite in the book? But do not let this minor inconvenience derail you from reading this issue, it's a great book.

    The Verdict

Since Green Arrow undertook this adventure that left him a pariah, and alienated him from his loved ones, he has embarked on an adventure that clearly portrays him on the winning side of all his struggles, even through his brief passing away. J.T. Krul, Diogenes Neves, and Vicente Cifuentes have made a spectacular issue that easily leaves the reader wanting for more. While people can recite Brightest Day and Justice League Generation Lost as the best parts about the Brightest Day event overall, Green Arrow takes its spot along with The Flash and Birds of Prey as the new wave of monthly issues that give gripping narratives, exciting action scenes, and a new appeal to the company-wide event that doesn't heavily rely on Hal Jordan to appear in every issue. This issue is a must-read, simply put. 4.5/5 GREAT BUY
