Openly gay and leader of the Alpha Squadron, he was recently promoted to the New X-Men squad before it was disbanded and is currently a member of the Young X-Men. He is currently enrolled at the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning.
Hisako Ichiki is a teenage mutant from Japan that studied at the Xavier Institute before becoming an X-Man. Her mutant power allows her to create psionic "armor", giving her enhanced strength and durability. She is currently enrolled at the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning.

Bling! was a student at the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning. A young mutant in training, she eventually joined the X-Men to help them battle Apocalypse.

Despite her similar name, she has no connection with the New Mutant, Cypher. She is currently enrolled at the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning. Alisa Tager is later revealed to have been hiding at the school from an unknown threat.
With the cerebral ability to understand all languages, Cypher was considered to be one of the weakest New Mutants. He was best friends with Warlock, but was killed while defending Wolfsbane in battle. He was forcibly resurrected during Necrosha, and soon returned to the X-Men as a powerful strategist.

Dust is one of the students at Xavier Institute and one of the New X-Men in training. She is recognized by that she always wears a Niqab instead of the traditional X-Men uniform.
Hellion is a powerful mutant telekinetic. He was a student at the Xavier Institute, leader of the Hellions squad and Emma Frost's prize pupil. Hellion lost his hands during Second Coming, received cybernetic replacements, and is currently enrolled at the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning.
Ink is a new character and member of the Young X-men.
The son of Charles Xavier and Gabrielle Haller, David Haller is the powerful Omega-level mutant known as Legion. He possesses hundreds of mutant abilities ranging from telekinesis to reality warping, but each power is controlled by a different persona, which could be either benevolent or malevolent.
Loa is a mutant with the ability to dissolve the molecular bonds of anything she touches. She also gained the ability to breathe underwater from an Atlantean Amulet that her grandmother obtained from her friend who was Namor's old girlfriend.
A Native American and member of the original New Mutants, Dani Moonstar was one of many mutants to lose their powers on M-Day, but has since had them restored. Moonstar currently uses her skills, experience and combat prowess to fight against evil as Hel's Valkyrie and has been a member of the New Mutants, MLF, X-Force, Fearless Defenders and the X-Men.

Rockslide is a student at the Xavier Institute, and one of its New X-Men. He was formerly on the Hellions Squad and since M-Day has retained his powers. He is a mutant composed of gray craggy stone.
Wife first to Brian Xavier and then to Kurt Marko. Mother to Professor X and Cassandra Nova, stepmother to the Juggernaut.
Dallas Gibson was a member of the Corsairs training squad at the Xavier Institute. His mutant power enabled him to merge with his own shadow, granting him superhuman abilities. He was depowered post M-Day and one of the few students whom survived William Stryker's bus bomb, due to obtaining a ride home from his grandfather, rather than boarding the bus.
Greymalkin and sunspot were members of Young X-Men.
Wolf Cub was a member of the Paragons training squad up until they disbanded following M-Day. He remains as a student at the Xavier Institute.
