Grace Munn

Origin

Grace is the oldest child of Sam Munn and her late mother. After the death of her mother, her father moved Grace and her siblings (Emily and Will) from San Francisco to Indiana hoping for a fresh start.

They moved in across the street from famed cartoonist, Muddy Davis.

Creation

Grace Munn and her family debut in Junkyard Joe (2022) #2 by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank.

Major Story Arcs

Junkyard Joe

Grace was having a hard to acclimating to her new neighborhood, as was her two siblings. Emily had wandered out of the house and caught a glimpse of Junkyard Joe through the window in Muddy's house. Emily and eventually Grace and Will made quick friends with Muddy and Joe. Unfortunately, this put them on the radar of the Custodian and his goons from the Founding Fathers. They had been looking for Joe and were willing to kill anyone in their way, however, Joe fought for his and the Munn kids' escape.

Joe and the kids cut through town and sought shelter at the veterans' center, but Custodian and his goons caught up with them. Joe fought them again to protect the kids, but when one of the goons pulls out a grenade, their fight spills out into the main street, in front of all witnesses. It also forces the ambulance that picked up Muddy to stop before the hospital. With Muddy's influence the townsfolk take to Joe very quickly defending him from The Custodian, whom Joe knocked unconscious with a headbutt, and the Homeland Security agents that showed up to retrieve.

Seven months later, Joe was still living with Muddy, who had returned to his comic strip after finding new inspiration. The Munn family continued to have regular cookouts with the duo.
