    Harley Goes Haywire! 9

Issue 20 of Gotham City Sirens is written by Peter Calloway, and the focus of the story is on Harley Quinn, and her sort of crazy self discovery.  SPOILERS BELOW.  The Good  Sometimes you get a cover that completely encompasses everything that happens in the issue. This is, in my opinion, an example of such cases. The cover to this issue of Gotham City Sirens showcases Harley Quinn suspended over the Joker's open mouth as if he is about to devour her. In his hand, he cups both Catwoman and Poiso...

The Good: The cover is pretty great, and when it was first revealed, the combination of it and the misleading solicit did a great job of hiding the twist end of the previous issue. There were 2 artists, and I have no idea who drew what because their styles managed to flow together seamlessly. I never noticed any awkward transitions or anything. And the art overall was very enjoyable. The running plot device of the special 4 objects was a twist of brilliance. I was expecting something that came f...

    Here we go again. 0

I admit I started reading GCS and gave up because I found  the issues pretty boring, however when I saw the cover for this issue I had to read it. I am happy I did.  The Good: The cover is misleading a a good plot twist kind of way. The issue focusses around Harley and her love hate relationship with the Joker. Harley 'finally' snaps and decides to kill him. Now many people would roll there yes as I did when I read it. We know she will more than likely fall into his army. However Harley is reall...

    Gotham CIty Sirens #20 0

THE GOOD: The goods things abou the issue is the art. I like it that it only takes four items to get into Arkham one of the most secure places in the DC Universe.  THE BAD: The bad things are that while I think it is funny that you only need four items. Did nobody else think that Harley would have done this before when she loved Joker. It shows to much of other peple then the SIrens Catwoman and Poison Ivy aren't even in it almost at all except for thre cover. I hat eit that it doesn't explain w...

Harley Quinn...to kill The Joker? 3

Synopsis: Harley goes after the Joker to do the unthinkable. What's Good? Finally, Another Harley Quinn story! After the recent stories with Selina, I was afraid that Harley would never get any time in this series. I haven't forgotten her origins as a psychologist, and it works throughout this issue. I did like the warped version of Harley's tales of the people she encountered, including Basil Karlo's aka. Clayface's backstory. The way she's hallucinating that the Joker is near by laughing ,is ...

    Just keeps getting better 0

So last time we left our heroes (about 2 weeks for you 15 minutes for me) Harley had some time to think about her love for Joker and how when you think about it he's been a real jerk to her and she finally realizes it.   Plot Harley does something the Bat could well will never do kill the Joker. On her path she'll show her psychological prowess and everything it takes to take out the clown prince of crime  My Opinion I have to say this issue was Ridiculous...ly awesome (Hooray for Batgirl refere...

    The Keystone-Guards of Arkham 0

Alyce Sinner I would like to despondence some thoughts on the guards deaths.  It really bothered me as well.  Not so much because the writer made you feel for the character just to have him die, but at who did the killing.  Harley is in my top five characters and I don't like this portrayal of her character.     I want to think Harley likes Catwoman and Poison Ivy and I don't like the idea of her turning on them in a crazy whim.  Harley is Harley, the Joker is the Joker.  I am not a fan ...

Comic POW! Live Video Review of GCS #20 0

I’ve written a lot about ComiXology recently and, really, I just discovered one of the biggest benefits. And that’s the fact that I can go back and find issues that have come out months or even years ago and I can get them really cheaply. I don’t have to worry about a premium on the fact that they are issues that are very rare. I can get issues like Batman #38 for only a dollar or two dollars. So I decided part of what I’d do at Comic POW! is take an issues that I’d like to take a look...
