Ivy's met her match in love

Its back to Poison Ivy as she contiunes to work at S.T.A.R. lab in the area she loves the most, plants. When she discovers something that could help plant life, she's get curious.

    Pros:

Its been a while since the entire Sirens actually work together, or in this case, help one of their members out. Despite the few pages with Harley and Selina, this issue does present that all three ladies are going to be in this issue at the same time and not different places like the last few issues.

I do like how the story is going with Ivy being controlled this time around rather than the other way around. I see this throughout this issue with Ivy using her "charms" to get what she wants towards the men and using intimidation when it comes to her assistant. When she finds the alien-like humanoid however, she ends up getting controlled by him.

    Cons:

I'm starting to feel like this a Poison Ivy series lately more than a team. This is Ivy's 3rd or 4th story in Gotham City Sirens already depending on how you look at it. Don't get me wrong, I like Poison Ivy, but it almost feel like Selina and Harley are becoming minor characters.

The artwork is mixed for me. I like the cover art by Guillen March. The first half looks decent, but I'm not particularly fond of the faces and Ivy just look awkward when she portray herself as human mostly because of the coloring. I like the second half of the issue's artwork with the story of the alien and how Ivy look being controlled, though they are some minor errors with Harley's makeup.

Overall: I'm tempted to skip the next issue just because I'm a little bit tired of Poison Ivy stealing the spotlight some. Poison Ivy fans might enjoy this arc, but if you want to see more of Selina and Harley, you might have to wait next issue.

The reason why I titled the review this way because it's an issue where a team has to face their closest friend, Which doesn't seem not necessarily done to death but it seems like writers go to plot. Plot During the last two story arcs Ivy still hasn't come home and the girls finally go to rescue her. Meanwhile Ivy gets the rundown on S.T.A.R.S Labs and it's secrets, thanks to the help of her new assistant Alisa. While looking around they come into contact with a humanoid-plant alien hybrid.   M...

Review: Gotham City Sirens #14 0

Poison Ivy seems to be influenced by an outside source. Can Harley quinn and Catwoman come together to stop this? The Good I didn't hate this book, but there was nothing really drawing me to it either. There were some pretty cool concepts within the book, like a man who wasn't a man at all. He's actually a plant. Other than that, there wasn't too much to like. It was a book I just wanted to finish for the sake of saying it was over with. The Bad Maybe it's because I'm not a huge fan of any o...
