    Gorius Karkum
Gorius Karkum is a rookie Green Lantern from the Psion Homeworld.  She is assigned to patrol the Vegan system's sector (Space Sector 2828) with her partner and fellow rookie Altin Ad'ms.  During her only recorded mission, Gorius and Altin were in pursuit of a stolen starship when Altin was fired upon by a  R.E.B.E.L.S. vessel intent on capturing the ship for their own.  Although Altin was uninjured, he was enraged by the attack and set after the R.E.B.E.L.S. vessel for revenge.  Gorius quickly intervened to stop her partner, advising him that this breach of protocol needed to be handled by Lanterns higher up in the Corps structure then Gorius and her hot-headed partner.  As Goruis predicted,  Vril Dox the commander of R.E.B.E.L.S., was soon contacted by Senior Lantern Salaak warning Dox not to provoke any further conflict with the Corps.  Dox arrogantly dismissed this warning, but tensions between R.E.B.E.L.S. and the Green Lantern Corps continue to escalate as both entities seek to position themselves as the true protectors of the universe.

Gorius and her partner were summoned by the Guardians to explain how things in sector 2828 has spiralled out of their hands and why Gorius and attacked a alledegely killed a number of her own people. Gorius explained that she had confronted Starfire, a former Psion prisoner and current R.E.B.E.L.S. member, with the intention to show her why Vril Dox's alliance with the Psions was a bad thing. Taking her to the Psion homeworld, she showed Starfire the horrific conditions she grew up with. As Psion women were nothing but slaves that produced Psion males. The pair had tried to liberate the captives, but the complex was destroyed, killing them all, save Starfire and Gorius. Thought she claimed she would die with a clear concience for her actions, the Guardians put her on probation and under the direct command of senior Lantern John Stewart.

Appearing at a peace meeting between Dox and Stewart, Gorius and her partner were dispatched to prevent a Citadel terrorist cell from blowing up the Vegan star. After quickly subduing the three Citadellians, Gorius failed to properly scan the bomb she called Stewart for help, normally the situation would make her incapable of acting as Psions rely heavilly on what they know for certain before acting. Her sector partner asked her to make a guess after being told to handle it before he was told where to strike to destabilize the bomb, rendering it harmless to the star. Their actions allowed them both back into the good graces of the Guardians. Supected but unproven by Steward, it was revealed that Vril had his son build the bomb in order to chase the Lanterns from the Vegan sector if they had been unable to stop the bomb.
