    The Global Defense Agency is a secret U.S. organization of soldiers, and scientists that is charged with protecting the Earth from supervillains, alien invasions, and other kinds of threats. It is run by Cecil Stedman. They often employ and sponsor various superheroes, and superhero teams.

    The G.D.A. maintains a rivalry with F.L.A.G., a similar U.S-based agency that oversees its own superhero teams.
