An oddity for British comics, The Giant Holiday Fantasy Comic Album (and its sister volumes, The Giant Holiday Adventure Comic Album and Giant Holiday Fun Comic Album) collected an unusual range of old IPC-owned comic strips from several different defunct titles and reprinted them together to form a massive 288 page cheaply-priced black and white volume not dissimilar to the later Marvel Essentials line. It was edited and compiled by Mike Higgs, and published by Hawk Books.
This volume, as the name suggests, concentrated mainly on strips with a fantasy element to them, though fantasy was used loosely and included science-fiction tales. The individual stories varied widely in length, as Higgs reprinted complete storylines - thus, some strips were only a couple of pages long, as compared to, for example, the Steel Claw, which takes up over 90 pages to reprint "The Return of the Claw" storyline.
