Too Hot To Handle Too Cool To Hold..

I'm going to make some confessions. First, Ghostbusters is my favorite movie of all time. I remember my parents renting the VHS when I was 4. I watched it daily. I own multiple copies of the film on different formats, and make it a point to watch it yearly. (The sequel on the other hand...)

Second, when I heard the pitch of this book, I was pissed. I read the Ghostbusters for the Ghostbusters. Not this new team. I told my comic store to cancel my subscription when this started. I wasn't the only one, apparently three others did that day as well.

Then the big interview came with the creators, saying this was only going to last for a couple of issues, and the original team is coming back. In fact they are featured pretty prominently in this issue. Also it was said IDW plans to restart the series once every year or so, kind of like TV seasons.

The Ghostbusters have been kidnapped by doppelganger ghosts, and taken to a ghost world version of a human containment unit. This kind of reminds me of an episode of Real Ghostbusters.

While the Ghostbusters are gone, the ghosts come out and play. Since Janine knows all of the ins and outs of the business, she teams up with an FBI agent (that was introduced when the Ghostbuster's went to New Mexico), and Ray's bookstore assistant. This new trio go out and illegally start busting ghosts.

Since the task of ghostbusting isn't something that can be done quietly they are caught. Walter Peak the hero of the people he is, comes to their aid, and recruits them to be the official new Ghostbusters. I'm sure he has nothing to gain, as he isn't a selfish person.

There you have it. The regular team of the Ghostbusters are just as featured as the new team. Same great writing. I was wrong to want to drop this. This was a fun issue. Again I was wrong.

Also when I told the comic store that I wanted to readd the book, apparently everyone else who dropped it did to. Basically after that interview.
