Tyrion Lannister is the third and youngest child of Tywin and Joanna Lannister. Being of House Lannister, he experienced a life of wealth and privilege, despite the hatred his father bestowed upon him due to his dwarfism. Titled both "Lord of Casterly Rock" and, more commonly, "The Imp".
Cersei Lannister is of House Lannister; an incredibly wealthy family who reside on Casterly Rock. She is Queen of Westeros through her marriage to Robert Baratheon, and the "Kingslayer" Jaime Lannister's elder twin sister.
Jon Snow is Eddard Stark's bastard son, a man of the Night's Watch and always accompanied by his pet dire-wolf, Ghost.

Sandor Clegane, known as the Hound, is the sworn shield of Joffrey Baratheon heir to the throne and former king. He is the younger brother of Gregor Clegane. He has a large facial scar on his right hand side. He as given the scar by his brother Gregor Clegane who caught a young Sandor playing with one of his toys so he held Sandor's head in a burning braizir.
Theon Greyjoy is Balon Greyjoy's only surviving son. He is a ward of Eddard Stark.
Bran Stark is Lord Eddard and Lady Catelyn Stark's second youngest son. An avid climber, he is severely crippled after he is pushed from a tower by Jaime Lannister.
Born a Tully; Catelyn Stark is the wife of Eddard Stark and Lady of Winterfell.
Arya Stark is the youngest daughter of Eddard Stark; as a member of House Stark she resides in Winterfell in the North of Westeros.

A handsome young man who serves as King Robert's squire. He is said to closely resemble his cousin, Jaime.

Stannis Baratheon is the Lord of Dragonstone and King Robert Baratheon's brother, serving on Robert's small council as Master of Ships. After his death, Stannis rebels and declares himself the rightful king of the realm.

Born in poverty in the slums of Flea Bottom, Davos found his path out of hardship in the waters, eventually becoming an infamous smuggler across the Seven Kingdoms. His fortunes changed for the better after he smuggled onions and other food to a besieged Baratheon army under Stannis in Robert's Rebellion. Knighted and elevated to lordship for this, he now serves as Stannis' right-hand man.
Ser Edmure Tully is heir to Riverrun, but he has been forced to take on the day-to-day duties of the Lord of Riverrun due to his father's infirmity. Considered to be a competent leader, he has shown to be both proud and impetuous as well.
Ser Boros Blount, of the noble House Blount, has served as a member of the Kingsguard for both King Robert, and King Joffrey, although his true loyalty seems to be to Queen Cersei. A man with a quick temper, he is generally not respected due to his cowardice, and has been referred to by Jamie Lannister as a "Paper Shield".
