    is it me or isn't his accent awful lol? can't he speak normal english? or is he from france or something? i just really dislike his Cajun accent!

    "Cajun" is a corruption of "Acadian", Acadia being the collective name for the French colonies in Maritime Canada. Most of them were deported after the Seven Years' War when they refused to sign allegiance to Britain, and a lot made their way to Spanish Louisiana.
     
    However, Gambit's accent is wildly inaccurate for New Orleans.

    @ownsin: I love his character, but once you read about some of the bad things that he does, it'll give you some shaky feelings. But overall, he's a good character. One of my favorite x-men.

    I'm from the south and sometimes I find her accent to be offensive
     
    but on the Topic of Gambit i love the way he talks its just cool to have someone with an accent instead of him being like everyone else speaking complete english
    I wish they would make Colossus's Russian accent more obvious, you know have him say "I Must Break You!"

    do they ever say where she comes from Texas, Georgia, Virginia those are the places that i think have the strongest accents in the South

    the accents are just the most obvious problem they all are portrayed as unintelligent
    and big oofs that if they could would yell "Hulk Smash" more than the hulk 
    and they all are into living on the earth, Southerners aren't Native Americans

    New Orleans is not majority Cajun. In fact only a tiny percentage of the New Orleans population is Cajun. Most Cajuns are concentrated in the areas southwest of New Orleans, like Houma and Thibodaux.
