I was really hoping he would drop out so he could be open to playing Shazam

Because just a year would be a very small time to make a movie. Something like that happened with the Xmen Origins movie. Do not want a repeat of that

They should have had Gambit in X-Men Apocalypse to properly introduce the character to general audience before making his solo movie.

@abramdaawesome: Honestly, yeah... right off the top he'd probably make a better Shazam than than Gambit. On the other hand, the dude actually has some acting chops which is really integral to any decent movie. With some make-up and voice training (gotta get the accent) he can probably nail it.

I really don't understand. Why Gambit? He is cool and popular, ok. But I don't believe that he is more appealing or famous than Cyclops and other X-men

Well, here's a chance for him to prove if he can act or not. It is a much different character than anything I've seen him play.

The dude that played Sawyer in lost should be playing Gambit. Tatum just doesnt seem right for Gambit.

Meh, I'm pretty indifferent. I know Gambit is one of the few X-Men to carry a long running solo but does he really deserve a whole film? And is he really the right character to be the next Wolverine for FoX-Men?

Personally I don't care to see any Gambit and the X-Men films. Never was a big fan of his and he's fallen from limelight in the comics over the years because he was one of the generational characters that was popular during one decade but is now outdated.

Wake me up when Fox stops giving us "___ and the FoX-Men" films and starts giving us "X-Men" films

Now that he's confirmed for the role, I have zero interest in the film.

read an article about him doing this movie. Hes wanted to do it his whole career due to gambit being his fav character ever. He grew in lousianna or something so he knows the lifestyle. The first things he mentioned that was important for him to get right was the costume and the accent. i have faith.

He's a fine actor. Everyone who is bitching hasn't seen how good he has gotten since Step Up.

This is going to be awesome! I think he will nail the role. Even though I did like the first Gambit actor too.
