I was at my LCS on Tuesday and chatting it up with one of the guys that works there. He's a pretty cool dude and we always like to talk comics, shoot the breeze, etc. He asked me if I had heard a rumor that Marvel's entire reasoning behind the Fantastic Four changing to the Future Foundation (FF) is so they could do a movie about them under the Marvel banner. Seeing as how Fox still owns the rights to Fantastic Four the idea really makes quite a lot of sense if you think about it. Has anyone else heard this?

THIS IS JUST A RUMOR. DON'T COME TO MY DOOR WITH THE TORCHES AND PITCHFORKS IF I'M WRONG.

    No and I doubt it.

It would just be easier to just wait until those rights expired. Future Foundation has barely made an impression, Fantastic Four is at least a household name. I don't think Marvel would bank on such a new brand.

doesn't make sense really since they have the rights to more than just the name but they also have the rights to the characters as well

I wonder how Spiderman would fit into that, isn't he still owned by Sony?

Doubt it as well, highly. It would make for a decent video game though anyway's. I would play it.

Seriously doubt it, I like Future Foundation as much as the next guy, but I'm realistic to realize that a year or two after Hickman leaves, things go back the way they were.

No way. Death of Torch? Possibly, but FF? No way.
