When J.Jonah Jameson and his son John are taken hostage by a crook seeking revenge, J.J. believing John is Spider-man expects him to save them. Just when he realises his mistake, they are saved by a mexican wrestler named El Muerto. When J.J. learns about El Muerto's mission to defeat, humiliate and unmask Spider-man, he arranges a wrestling match with a million dollars going to charity. Meanwhile, Flash Thompson, out of his coma and with no memory of the last few years, is the new coach at Midtown High. Spider-man accepts the challenge and wrestles El Muerto, but when he realises the loser must unmask a venomous stinger involuntarily shoots from his wrist stinging El Muerto.
