    Born in January 1965 in Rouen, he studied history there. He earned his master's degree by studying newspaper cartoons during the Dreyfus Affair. In the 80s, he played a lot of guitar and sharpened his pen in fanzines and student newspapers. Fred publishes his first album, 500 rifles, in 1995. The same year, he realizes his first great success, Carmen Mc Callum, within the Label "Serie B". This is followed by Travis and Hauteville House. In 2008, he published with Philippe Ogaki, Meteors, a science fiction series, before tackling an old dream with the cartoonist Zanzim: adapting Tartuffe into comics. In 2010, he joined the Casse team with La Grande Escroquerie and created Nico, with Philippe Berthet at Dargaud Benelux editions. The same year, he embarked alongside Jean-Pierre Pécau on the Jour J adventure, a concept series directed by Fred Blanchard which revisits the major turning points in history. In 2012 he published the man of the year 1917 which had great critical and commercial success, in 2014 an album was published devoted to Esterhazy and the Dreyfus Affair as well as the ambitious thriller Wonderball written with Pecau and drawn by Colin Wilson. In 2016, two new series appeared at Delcourt: Mousquetaire and Nom de code: Martin In October 2016, the album XIII Mystery was published, written under the direction of Jean Van Hamme and drawn by Corentin Rouge. Fred has just published with Pécau and Subic a great Steampunk saga around the characters of Sherlock Holmes and Moriarty. In October 2018 Dargaud published the first volume of a new Science Fiction series created with Emem and Fred Blanchard: Renaissance. Fred adapts Michel Bussi's bestsellers. Nymphéas Noirs, designed by Cassegrain, appeared in January 2019 in the Aire Libre collection.
