Frank Zappa was a musician noted for his experiental rock and jazz, both in his solo career and with the band, the Mothers of Invention. He spoke out against the censorship of music and art, which brought him at odds with Tipper Gore, wife of former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, and her organization, the Parents Music Resource Center (PMRC). He testified in front of the United States Senate regarding sexuality and alledged Satan-worship in rock music. He died at the age of 52 from prostate cancer.
He is the father of Ahmet, Diva, Dweezil, and Moon Unit.
In comics, he first appeared in Fluide Glacial #3. Revolutionary Comics reprinted Rock N' Roll Comics #32 - Frank Zappa as Frank Zappa: Viva la Bizarre, a posthumous tribute to the musician.
