The First 'X-Men: Apocalypse' Trailer is Here

Coming in May of 2016 is the third X-Men film in the current X-Men trilogy: X-Men Apocalypse. This time, the team is facing one of the X-Men's most notorious villains, Apocalypse and it's going to take a whole new team of heroes to stop him. The first trailer for the upcoming film was revealed today and features some pretty awesome moments.

X-Men: Apocalypse opens on May 27, 2016.

I'm undecided.

Amazing trailer. Without a doubt my most anticipated movie next year (nothing else comes close), and possibly of all time.

And Apocalypse looks great here. Hopefully this stops all the whining about his look (though if people were stupid enough to do that to begin with, then this probably won't stop them).

dare i say it, this looks like we're finally getting an honest-to-god movie about the X-Men, as a team, using their powers together to battle evil!

I'm loving some of Apocalypse's quotes in this.

"I've been called many things over many lifetimes. Ra, Krishna, Yahweh"

"You are all my children. And you're lost. Because you follow blind leaders"

"Everything they've built will fall! And from the ashes of their world, we'll build a better one!"

Fancy. I'm just loving how kawaii Jubilee is.

Well, that was pretty good. Apocalypse looks to be the most powerful villain they've faced and I'm glad Raven is where she belongs :) although I have to say I'm more excited for this movie based on what I've heard about it rather than what the trailer showed.

Still, bring on Apocalypse!

Did they alter Apocalypse's look in post? He appears to be blue and wave a bit of his lip thing going on.

Wait so The Four Horsemen are being mind controlled right? I just want to make sure because what Charles said could mean he could take their powers away as well.

They didn't alter it. The previous things we've seen with him was before they were done adding effects to him and was unfinished.

From the creators that brought us: Where is Luke in Episode VII and Where is Spider-Man in Civil War comes the brand new Where is Wolverine in X-Men Apocalypse?

Extremely stoked for the movie but that was a pretty underwhelming trailer to be honest. I'm hoping the next one is a lot better.

A while back I remember reading an article that suggested they were being manipulated by Apocalypse.

"Ever since the world found out about mutants, there have been secret societies who see them as some kind of second coming or sign of God"

This sounds really interesting, and I hope they spend some time exploring that.

Needs more Jean, Cyclops and Psylocke.

I love it!

None of the trailers for the big three next year (Batman v Superman, Civil War, X-Men) have me excited.

I will watch them, but the trailers have been OK at best. Weirdly the best trailer, for me, has been Deadpool.

I can't believe i'm saying this but I now have no interest in this movie.

Me too, there was a lot of good stuff in this trailer, but it's Bryan Singer and Apocalypse doesn't look/feel right.

I think this is a post production change after fans said he looked like Ivan Ooze. Good decision, but he still doesn't look right. He still looks like something from Power Rangers or a hokey looking alien from the first few seasons of Dr. Who.

Before this trailer, I wasn't very interested in the film. But damn, that looks fantastic. Can't wait to see it.

No. They wouldn't have released a trailer to the public with an incomplete effects shot, especially one that would have him purple instead of blue. The most they would ever do is change the color correction of the entire shot between now and then (Guardians of the Galaxy did this heavily).

Apocalypse looks great, which is why people need to stop whining about looks preemptively. Just like Doomsday, it may not be the final product.

So psyched for this movie.

So happy were finally getting Apocalypse on screen. He's my favorite villain. He's very interesting, he's basically a false prophet who pops up and tries to manipulate religions and people.

Yea I'm excited. Still iffy on how apocalypse looks but I think he will be awesome.

Mohawk Storm looks awful. WTF, why are they pushing this look for her?

Apocalypse doesn't look as silly as I feared... the one time we actually see him properly at least.

I guess we finally get a telepathic battle... I mean maybe Apocalypse just grows big, it is one of his powers, but Charles trying to fist fight him would be silly even without that, so I would guess its a telepathic battle.

Apocalypse looks fine, it's a creative diversion that actually works for the movie. That being said, the trailer was awesome, definitely got me more hyped than the Civil War trailer did.

Remember that feeling you got when the X3 trailer came out? It was all show, explosions and CGI, and epic goodness. I think this creates the same amount of hype!

Problem is, in the trailer, I can already see a lot of [minor] things I got complaints about. So I'm afraid it's going to be the same type of fiasco X3 was.

Then again, Brian Singer is not Brett Ratner.

Meh, I have enjoyed a total of 0 X-Men films so far and I dont think they will hit it with this one... Ill wait for it on Netflix.

I guess, but I hate that look for her. It's not fitting for a queen.

He was always blue. The light shining on him in the one photo everyone was freaking out about was a purple shaded light.

I like the Mohawk, but I thought she picked that up in modern times not the 80's. (nevermind, I googled it) Saw scans of her with it in the classic comics and more current.

I'm still very iffy on the movie overall...

I'm very excited about this movie. It looks like it is going to be great. I hope we get at least part of the movie in a full on Age of Apocalypse. It looks like Cyclops might have more of a part to play than I initially thought so that excites me. They need to get him right on film. I'm about as excited about this movie as I am for Civil War.

seeing a lot of fan service shots here but not a lot of substance.

jean is not a clairvoyant and can't see the future. getting the basics like "who can do what" wrong is never a good sign and ruins suspense and tension if the plot hinges on what people can or can't do and suddenly any character can do anything you need them to. watching Kitty time travel Logan's mind in DoFP was a great example of this.

looks like there's lots of disposable mutants here again too. wonder how many of them die this time.

really like that they're showing Apoc's growth powers. still really not liking his costume design. i would have definitely preferred less egypt and more alien tech -- contrary to popular opinion, him being decked out in ancient Egyptian details makes no sense because while he's an ancient Egyptian in comics continuity, he's apparently not in this continuity AND his tech predates the entire culture anyhow. also, no clear shots to see what he looks like to avoid that controversy again... i assume they're working on fixing that.

a lot of the vfx look really poorly done like they were in first class. willing to be proven wrong but i doubt that will happen.

it does look like the emphasis is going back to the original class and supporting cast, which i like. and then introducing the second class. i like that so much. that's what we all always wanted i'd say.

i also like that it looks like they're using the X-men Evolution incarnation of the Four Horseman approach.

i'd really like to see Fox lose this license. hope i'm wrong but not optimistic.
