also logan's room has a door connecting it to jean's room....in the SUMMERS HOUSE COMPLEX. can your delusional mind explain that one?
Four flatscans with guns put a nation of Omegas and living fuxing island on its knees.
Le sigh, as the saying was.
Yeah it's fucking ridiculous
@marvelfan1992: all i know is i would not put my member where Wolverine's has been
@ursaber: Oh don't get me wrong I absolutely hate this whole polygamy BS shitman is teasing. It's fucking ridiculous that these 3 would be in a throuple. But I I'm hoping it pushes through so hope can finally snap and leave this forum
@marvelfan1992: im not going anywhere lol also im the queen of the x-men boards cause i beat koays in the top posters section
also that wolverine book doesnt happen til Feb
Not crazy about the art and at lot of it didn't make sense, maybe I need to reread it.
After they explain the security of Krakoa they just let these people land no problem because Sage saw one of them was Domino?
Wolverine kills them even though its against the law??
We're supposed to feel anything that Xavier is seemingly dead when we know he isn't in upcoming series? This just seems like a rushed issue, I hope it gets better.
I'm waiting when will these writers gain the ability at forming some story coherence when you could finally finish an issue and you could actually say "Well, there was no PIS, CIS or WIS. The shock value wasn't cheap, the twist worked and actually surprised me, and now I can't wait for more."
And it almost never happens.
I just finished this one. I gotta say it’s probably the weakest opening issue out of all of them so far. Some psi-blockers, using Domino as bait, and all of a sudden some dudes with a handful of guns can run rough shot long enough on Krakoa to kill a bunch of people, which we know will come back, and kill Xavier, who we know will come back and will be in some upcoming issues? The art and stuff wasn’t terrible, and I like the premise of the book, but they made almost everyone on that island look like a bunch of idiots. The only excuse was Logan said the island made them soft, but that shouldn’t make them all incompetent.

I really foresee the characters in X-Men, X-Force and Marauders being nerfed to the ground because they are earth-based and since there are no more powerful mutants to fight, they have to be nerfed or dumbed down so that they struggle vs humans. NM are safe because space enemies, Excalibur are dealing with the mystical realm and Fallen Angels is supposedly dealing with a god
See now I agree that they made the Xmen look like idiots with the attack. Seems to me that they'd have some type of psionic force walls as was the case in Age of X. Ive said in another thread that possibly combining this with the plot in Fallen Angels would have made the book that much better. Apoth issuing the attack would have made sense. Even a better explanation like maybe the original Marauders are infected or implanted with some type of tech that allows for them being mutants to pass thru Krakoas gates but then their minds are overcome or overtaken by the tech hell maybe that Apoth thing or some type of omega sentinel tech and they are the ones who "assassinate" Xavier. Anyway it just shouldnt be some random ass guys with guns not unless everyone was somehow hugely distracted by another larger threat
While the book is not bad, I think this it is messing up Hickman's plans, for instance, it's clear Hickman had some plan and explanation for Xavier always wearing Cerebro and not letting us readers see his face, he even went out of his way to show us Xavier without Cerebro but leaving his head out of the panel/frame, clearly indicating there's something beneath it, yet in X-Force #2 we can see Xavier's head and face completely fine.
Also, I just can't buy that Hickman didn't have plans to use Xavier on his main X-book and now he won't be able to, it also diminshes the suspense and foreboding built in House of X/Powers of X, now only to be destroyed on X-Force by immediately killing the main and most important character in the first issue on a ver anti-climactic way.
Last but not least, if a strike team with about a dozen assasins can infiltrate Krakoa and kill 33 mutants including the most important one, I don't see what stops actual powerful organizations or villains from totally wrecking the place, hell, Sentinels could just go all Genosha on Krakoa and apparently they wouldn't be able to do sh*t.
This is the best X-book right now. Percy has made me a fan of his. It kind of gives me the feelings I had when Kyle/Yost and Rick Remender were doing Xforce and Uncanny Xforce a while ago. In fact the story here feels like it should be the flagship book Xmen.
I think I’m gonna agree with this. I didn’t hate the first issue, but I felt it was the weakest. The human engineered guys going to town on Krakoa? While I may not necessarily find it believable with how strong the everyone is. the art wasn’t terrible but just felt muddled. Boy did issues 2-3 turn that around. I think Perry at least tried to put enough effort into the assassins to make them seem like a threat, how loaded they actually were. Logan was great in character, Kid Omega was great. The art was a lot cleaner, less muddled. The story is dark, it’s gross. This book definitely feels like it’s the most important one. X-Force is a big sleeper and I have to say it’s probably the best X-Book on the shelf right now.
I'm very into this series, it helps that Wolverine is being written by someone who seems to actually like the character and portrays him as badass.
As for the thing with the island being infiltrated by a squad of genetically engineered super soldiers,it makes sense.
the end of the #4 issue was brutal lol
They are just blowing up mutants left and right
Issue 5 was fantastic. Logan’s moment was my favorite. I was glad to see Domino get some shine. Forge, too. I definitely think this is the best X-book at the moment, it feels the most important, and it’s been the most consistent. With how Percy has been treating Wolverine here, I’m super excited for his on-going.
Just read 6. Beast is insufferable. What exactly were they fighting though. Was it nano technology or like?? I didn't quite understand the explanation
It was a great issue.

Those were terrafloronics
@vishop_: the hell how did I miss this page lol. thanks
Yea I wanna see where Beast development goes.
Here's hoping that they don't bury the potential character development and instead give him some awareness of how this is pretty much the same as Scott's X-Force....if not even more morally gray.
I like this new direction for him, since his role in X-Books has pretty much been negative or "science guy" for a long time.
It's very important that Beast have consequences and/or be held accountable for his actions and treatment of people......given Jean's reaction in this issue I'm hoping for that to be their dynamic given they are both usually the pacifist of the group......it would be good for them to hold eachother accountable
lol I skimmed through the preview of the next chapter and I was like "damn that's still bad". Maybe it's the Quire impression. Also "the humans got shielded from flatscan detectors because they wore Domino pieces" is probably the dumbest shit since Red Skull getting Xavier's TP because he played with his brain.
@adamtrmm: I made mention of that in my take for the next issue. It’s really not that bad. Percy at least tried to give a valid reason for the effectiveness of it and how they managed to pull off what they did, regardless of what you actually think of that one moment. And despite all that, his Quire is great, his Wolverine is great, his Forge is great, and his Domino is great. He’s giving Beast a new direction and how Jean is handling it as well. This book actually feels like the flagship book as it seems like the most important stuff is happening in this one. There really hasn’t been much of a downside in this book for me aside from maybe a few plot points to try and connect things to move the plot forward. On top of it, it’s been the most consistent as well. But that’s just my opinion.

but........(just my opinion next/jmo)
x-force seems more lighter then usually ie less killing or being not mercenaires
domino and sage are boring........... they just ruined domino so u can tell them apart
beast gets away with everything as usual
they add quire to wolverine(joined at the hip?!?!?) to make wolverine less angry???
Well, it wasn't as great as the previous issues, but I liked, they really need to give Black Tom his own mini-series.
Great issue and the series has been great overall.
However, it seems that all the mutants suddenly lost all the morality and only do what is best for mutants even if it's not right, and it's especially shocking to see Jean and Beast, the most noble and moral X characters doing stuff like this.
This isn´t a complaint for this book though, I feel like this is happening with all mutants in all books, there's this sense of sinister stuff going on since the introduction of Krakoa, something I hope is part of Hickman's plan and will be explained down the line, perhaps Xavier is manipulating every mutant or Krakoa is influencing everyone who lives there, I don't know, but right now I feel like there are no longer moral and ethical mutantss.

dumbest thing for me is that they make a big deal about ships in marauders when they have whole ass jets that could much more quickly accomplish their goal
This is one of the better titles in my opinion. I generally like the writing, but damn the mutants are just being evil. Like Beast punching a Doctor in the face for no reason.
I know they’re being manipulated, but I’m beginning to not care after watching it happen since the beginning of the reboot. They’ve managed to do something AvX and Inhumans vs X-Men couldn’t do, they’re making me lose my sympathy for the X-Men.
Maybe that’s the ultimate game plan, to make the Mutant out to be the bad guys. It wouldn’t be the first time they’ve tried it.
I guess we’ll find out.
Just read the issue. I was cool with the real diminished cast. It was very Domino focused considering what she went through with some good Sage in there. Also, I was super happy with the interaction with Domino and Colossus, so we got a bit of good character action there. Not going to lie, I was big on them as a thing during Cable and The X-Force, so I really happy to see them on panel together. And I’d be down with this as a thing for them to come back.

Dominolossus !!! :D
@koays: Here’s a fun question for everyone: Do you think Jean will end up rebelling against Beast? Or do you think Jean won’t stand out of line until she does something horrible? Or will Jean change completely with her darker side convincing her what she and Beast are doing are the right things?
My thinking for each of these questions are this:
•The first where Jean rebels would be the most likely route. Even if Jean doesn’t necessarily sabotage team missions, I do think there will come a point where Jean lectures Beast. That just seems like the most likely outcome out of this with Jean’s characterization right now. I am thinking X-Men #28 kind of mindset.
•Jean doing something she regrets sounds like another avenue they might go. Given that she trusts Beasts judgement, it could be that she would be put in a situation where she has no choice but to against her conscience and immediately regret it afterward.
•The most interesting, yet least likely Avenue I see they could take this is Jean thinking she and Beast are right, which comes into conflict with the rest of X-Force who find out Beast has been lying to them. And Jean not suspecting anything previously, doubts them because her judgement has been skewed by recent events and doesn’t know what to believe. And we know Jean has that stubborn potential to think in such a way like most heroes do.(I.e. Captain America)
Honestly, I’m having a bit of a hard time figuring out how this version of Jean will react. She really hasn’t gotten a lot of screen time so far, and for now they seem to be using her as the back up Cerebro user for Charles, or the village bike.
Also, why the reversion to her old old old Marvel Girl costume, code name? There must be a story there they haven’t revealed yet.
@pyrofn: Hmmm.....that's hard to say.
She came off as very annoyed with the casual depravity of Wolverines game....but because it seemed to be more of her being annoyed by the casual violence of it while she's feeling so turned off by X-Force I can see her confronting Beast, but in the long run leaving the team or staying out of the field.
Jean despite her history isn't in place to confront Beast mentally.
It was her that decided that X-Force needed to be formed (indirectly) but now she's in a position where she's going to be judging Beast for doing what he needed to do to protect Krakoa when she did the same thing but with the idea of defending them from physical threats as opposed to the general, economic and idealistic threats.
At best I can see Jean potentially splintering off the group into a potential FBI to Beast CIA. It would help with the redundancies like Jean/Quire & Beast/Sage while also giving her an outlet for her desire to protect Krakoa from threats coming into Krakoa like she wanted to in the first issue.
Agreeing with Beast is a bit too radical an contradicts with her feelings from the last issue. Jean as a character going toward the dark also isn't really good for her as the moral center of the team seeing as the X-Men don't have many on Krakoa skewered toward the light.
This particular iteration of X-Force isn't really conducive to Jean supporting it because rather then protecting mutants it's about protecting a country so not all of it's enemies are things that need to be fought from the shadows. Her personality leaves openings for certain types of rebellious teams and proactive units but the direction Beast is going in doesn't jell with that since while Jean can be direct and decisive in her actions it's never really been anything underhanded.
I want them to show Jean understanding that the team will have to make hard choices that she won't agree with. So she accepts that and leaves the team. But not not in a judgy, I'm better than you way, more like in a I'm not sure if I can handle this kind of stuff so I'm going to step back and help Krakoa in other sectors way.
