Why instead of eclipse(an original character) Alex Summers, havok wasn't used?
Why wasn't havok used in the gifted?
Probably because Havok was a semi-major character in the First Class trilogy.
Or is it because of the "summers" name?
Early before season one we had creator statements that implied that this was set in the world of the X-Men movies. Shortly after when it was being previewed at conventions it was stated that it was it's own universe.
My guess is that they hadn't decided for sure whether it was going to be a movie verse tie-in like Daredevil and Agents of Shield, or if they would do the much easier standalone verse. And I'm pretty sure that including Havok or any Major character from the films would be to distinct of a move to make.
Yeah it should have been Havok instead of Eclipse. Even the idea of the Xmen disappearing but leaving the underground in charge and Havok having the "pressure" of living up to his brothers legacy would be an even richer story and quite interesting.
Considering Scott didn't have a legacy in mass media,i'm not sure about that direction.
@mrnihal: Well seeing as how we're still in the dark as to who the Xmen were, why they disappeared and what happened on 7/15.....it could easily just be stated the Scott was the one of the leaders of the Xmen and Xavier's original students. Naturally a younger sibling would feel the pressure of trying to live up to what they may have entailed. Each generation typically tried to eclipse the former
Notice that they practically used the future X-Men from DOFP? Well, Sunspot's powers woulda been to expensive to depict, so they opted to create their own character, Eclipse, who saves them dinero by holding a tap light in his hand.
Because he's dead and sucked.
lol
