No
if that's the case half of the dc heroes are outdated they should change that
x men is a iconic name more than avengers and fantastic four even justice league at some point
Outdated? No
However their have been more X-Men movies then even spiderman.....its alot to consider in a reboot because your furthering the already unavoidable comparisons between the older X-films and the new ones.
Even if they changed the name of the film to something like X-Force, it's at least reinforces the difference in your mind, since when people here X-Men movie, they are usually thinking about the 20+ years of movies that ALOT of fan literally grew up on.
"Woman who likely got her job through affirmative action gives shitty opinion about a franchise whose source material she has likely never read"
"Its funny that people call it the X-Men... there's a lot of female superheroes in that X-Men group; I think it's outdated."
Funny that people call it the X-Men? As if Marvel named it something else and people decided to call it X-Men instead? Is she talking about real people or the in-universe people? Doesn't make all that much sense either way. It's not people, real or in-universe, who decided to call them X-Men.
@theinsufferable: Stan lee???

Regardless of Gender all people are huMANS, and when you speak about a mixed group (gender rise) the correct way to refer to them are men as reference to human, or woman, or man. Its not sexist its proper grammar
@mcklayn: It was a quote by the exec, and I was mostly referring to the fact that she was shifting the blame for something she perceived to be wrong towards people (in-universe or real) rather than X-Men or Marvel (who are presumably responsible for what the X-Men is called in and out universe). Whether it's actually wrong or right is something I'll leave for linguists to figure out.
