I dig it. Looks a lot like Sif though but I dig her look too.
I also like the JL one at the end of the article.
@saren: It really doesn't. The breastplate and tassels are completely different. Diana isn't sleeveless, has a higher neck and tiara. Plus the extremely different colour scheme. The only real similarities are the boots/both are wearing pants now, which is simply a practical thing that should be true of 90% of costumes.
The fact that the general style is similar is simply true because they are both mythological, warrior women and if anything this Sif has been taking heavy inspiration from Diana considering her comic look historically almost never looks like that photo. She looks far more Greek than Norse in the MCU.
Wow, what a difference a few years makes. When she had pants in both the Odyssey and the new 52 people lost their cha cha's and they actually forced a change to the panties. This Batgirling and street wear for characters and the reaction actually makes me somewhat proud of fandom.
The Superman thing though...oofda.
With the exception of the blades and the loin cloth, I really like it and while I didn't have a problem with her previous costume its nice to see a more modest costume going forward (and one that isn't that terrible night club bouncer costume they tried to give her a while back)
Okay...now that I take a second to think about it, it still looks good, but it's just not WW style.
I LOVE the fact that she has more armor & is finally for the first time in her life, fully covered up, but wtf is up with those gauntlets? Why does she need wrist spikes? Just leave her normal gauntletes, they already have a story purpose, in which they restrain her godlike powers. And also, they are as iconic as superman's cape.
..... Ugh..... dear god that's bad, that's really really bad. She doesn't look like an Amazon, a warrior, or a hero. Not quite as bad as when she wore the weird pants jacket combo, but still bad.
It screams "We have no confidence in our character"
I am totally, totally a fan of Wonder Woman getting some pants. But I think they have some weird problem figuring out what color/design those pants should (this goes for the new TV Supergirl too). The whole loincloth thing makes it look too busy. You could cut a lot of decoration out of this (including the spikes, obviously) and end up with a good costume. For instance make the top of the shirt red too, so it doesn't look like a bustier on top of a shirt. Cut the loincloth, cut the stripes on the boots. Cut the stars and the collar.
Or, just go back to the last pants version when this volume first came out.
Looks f'ing great. Her lack of armor was one of the things I disliked about the character.Hate the oversexualizing of female characters.
But look at this it's an actual functional armor (sure she is strong enough to not actually need it). And it's not bulky like Brienne from GoT, it's still feminine. You cán have both functionality and femininity and I would like to see it on more characters. The exception being Harley Quinn, psycho skanky fits her insanity.
