If Wonder Woman wants to avoid spreading gas from the bacteria in her colon, Wonder Woman needs to have very very strong rectal muscles to keep the gas inside.

In Cover Run, Adam Hughes says that he always envisaged the muscle definition you see as being moulded into the leather cuirass (as was the custom in ancient Greece and Rome) and wasn't representative of her actual abs, etc.
I always saw her as being athletic but not muscle-bound, since her super strength comes from godly origins.
Considering she isn't human she doesn't need to be muscular to be strong. She should be drawn athletic, not muscular. Her build would fit closer to an Olympic style runner, like Lolo Jones and less like a female body builder. Actually while we're on the subject of characters being drawn, Flash should look a lot more like a runner then a muscle bond meat head.

the guy who said Jess Ennis is spot on. As a brit she is one of our favourites. great six pack to show off her core strength, but lithe, athletic and slender. Also a looker!

If you want a lump see post #212 'cause I'm pretty sure that's a dude. I posted Beyonce to prove a woman can look powerful without being muscular, her strength comes from within.
She should defiantly be toned with very defined muscles but I don't think she needs to really be bulky at all. I'd like too see them bring an emphasis back to the Amazon's phionic abilities so they don't really need big muscles.
@danieles: I've actually been considering writing an erotic fanfiction where all the Amazons have penises. Just something silly that should in no way appear in the real comics.
Take the breast bump away and that could totally be a dude. And it's not realistic at all because anyone with arms that buff wouldn't have enough fat to have breasts, that's why female body-builders get implants.

She should look athletic and physically capable, but still give off a strong vibe of "I'd hit that." Some of you want her to look like a f***ing bodybuilder.
She doesn't need to look like an Olympic bodybuilder. But she shouldn't look like a pin up doll, or a runway model either. She should be toned, have an athletic build. Lean frame, with muscles thrown in.

Yuck! Who wants "strong and sinewy"? Sounds like a tough piece of chicken. And yes, I know Serena's form well, there's a lot of hips, @ss and thighs to go along with those breastesses and none of that is in your picture. Still I don't think Wonder Woman should be built like Serena. She's too much for most men to handle, Wonder Woman should have more of a universal appeal.
Notice that as big as Serena is, she doesn't have striations in her arms or the hard looking narrow hips that are in your picture.
Despite all her strength, she's a soft and cushiony place to land.
