Hemsworth does fine a Thor in the MCU (with what little he's been given to work with). Unfortunately, what hurts his character is the devolution of his speech pattern to where he now sounds like just a regular dude. I liked the first film initially where Thor is banished to Earth.
The comic version of Thor is starting to ape this change and I'm not a fan, but historically speaking one of the most appealing things about Thor to me was how properly he speaks. It set him apart from other famous characters.
