Superman Gets a New Look Post-Convergence

Looks like there's a lot of changes coming down the pipeline post-Convergence. Nerdist had the solicit for ACTION COMICS #41, which goes on sale on June 3rd, and the cover shows Superman with a completely new look.

Looks like Superman is getting really casual. At first, this almost looks like it has to deal with just the story line going on in ACTION COMICS. However, the cover for SUPERMAN/WONDER WOMAN #18, released by Uproxx, shows that this new costume is DC-wide

As we mentioned earlier, Wonder Woman also has a new costume as well. As for Superman, aside from the t-shirt and jeans, he's also getting his hair trimmed up and sporting some stubble, and during Greg Pak and Aaron Kuder's run on ACTION COMICS, Superman is no stranger to facial hair.

As most fans probably realize, the chances of Superman eventually going back to the old costume is pretty high, but as of right now, what do you think about the costume change? Does it work for you or does he come off as just a dude in a Superman shirt?

erm...why does supes look like Superboy from YJ??

Not really much to say, he looks like how he is in Future's End just without the beard.

Specifically the Young Justice version. That being said I kinda like this look.

Nope. Don't like this one at all. He's just some random dude in a t-shirt. Not a symbol of hope anymore. Not a fan of the short hair either. I'm ok with stubble or beard Superman but this is outfit just doesn't indicate superhero.

Why do they insist on trying to make Superman look more and more angsty and edgy?

No. Just no. That is not how Superman should look.

I prefer my Superman with his red cape and blue clothing. I guess we won't know why he changes to this until the story hits, but right now I feel like they could have done more.

Wonder Woman on the other hand; I love the new outfit. Wrist blades are dumb, but everything else looks pretty sweet.

I'm mostly ok with WW new costume, but this, just no.

Ι am all for T-Shirt and Jeans.

But the gloomy face, the black symbol and the shreaded cape wrapped in his fists are what actually make me scarred.

I hope these costumes are not permanent. I hate Superman costume because he is basically superboy. I would actually like Wonder Woman's costume if they would get rid of the blue that is covering her skin. I really think DC is playing with us. I think the characters are not Clark, Bruce, and Diana. I they are actually Kurt, Damian, and Donna. Something happens to Bruce, Diana, and Clark during convergence. This could be another world.

This is literally such a disgrace. I understood him having the t-shirt and jeans in the beginning of his career but now this? Seriously, DC, you're beyond being a bunch of f*cking morons at this point.

Of course this is a side story or a temporary costume clothes. The logo is all sort of wrong and hair. Kinda feels like im back in the 90s. This is on the same level as the black costume in reign of supermen.

Thanks for tagging me, both in a good and bad sense. I'm not a big fan of Superman going back to the T-Shirt and Jeans look, especially since it basically looks like an older Superboy and it takes away from the awe Superman is supposed to project. No cape, no costume, nothing. The new Wonder Woman costume looks pretty angsty too, completely shedding any pretense of Wonder Woman being an ambassador of peace.

I'm just waiting for Saint Wildcard's pants to explode at this news and then my day will be complete.

To play devils advocate. That symbol is pretty traditional. Its classic Golden age symbol.

And Superman has used black font before.

What scares me though is the "dark", "angry" tone the pic has.

I mean, I know he could do it quickly, but its not gonna cool to see him change into Super Jeans everytime a villain pops up. Also, these jeans are 1) kinda snug, and 2) gonna get ripped apart by any real battle, so...

no no no just no. its things like this that make me glad Dc have done away with half of the titles I read so i dont have to put up with so many of these stupid ideas. The classic saying applies here to the old costume, IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DONT FIX IT!
