And now that fans like this know that their campaigns work in order to get what they want, we'll see more things like this in the future. It sets a bad precedent.

It’s the new streaming service that probably got the ball roaming actually.
NOt a thing on earth will make me see this movie. I even avoid the trailers and teasers. Bad enough I have to see the occasional gif of it.
@saintwildcard: Not even a Scooby Snack?
@zariusii: I'd honestly rather eat dog food than see the movie. Somewhat joking aside, I went to go see the Whedon version, because I saw the bad reviews and had to see how they could screw it up so badly. I guess I could see myself seeing this movie if it's just as bad, but part of me doubts it. I do think it'll be better than the Whedon Cut and BvS (although it's not really a high bar to jump), I just don't think it matters anymore. The story I was interested in with MoS, got ruined with BvS and there isn't any amount of retconning (which isn't really SNyder's style, he doubled down on some of the worst aspects of MoS) that'll fix it. I'm just not invested anymore. I think it'll be better if SNyder just sticks to making it an epic summer block buster, and stays away from trying to be smart, because he's obviously not.
@quinlan58: Hardcore Snyder fans are already calling it their favorite film without seeing it yet.
@quinlan58: it’s more-so about Snyder putting out the movie he intended to make
I'm aware. I'm quite happy for Snyder. An artist getting to put out their vision after getting screwed over by corporations is always something to be celebrated, regardless of how much I may or may not like that vision.
But there's also an entire fandom phenomena around it (regarding fans and detractors alike, what this means as far as director's cuts and other controversial and artistically-compromised movies, what this may mean to the concept of cinematic universes, etc) that I find very intriguing.
@quinlan58: I'm in the same boat. I'm no hardcore Snyder enthusiast, and his fanbase has done a mix of virtuous and abhorrent things over the years, but I'm approaching this as this generation's 'Donner Cut'. Given the current fascination for fan-editing, there's going to be a lot of custom takes on this film just as there was for the Donner cut.
I hope Warner release a Batman Forever directors cut.
So ZSJL came out and the response is fairly strong so far. I watched it and is a pretty solid cut that doesn't feel like four hours despite the run time. Plenty of material for fanedits too.
I stitched together a 2 hour, fifty-five minute cut and cropped it to widescreen. I'm calling it "This Ain't Zack Snyder's Justice League" because I took a great chunk out of it, no Lex, no Knightmare epilogue, Martian Manhunter serves a slightly different purpose early on in the film (he warns Bruce there's an attack coming) , and I removed Clark fighting the League.
