Not really fond o insect queen and blood sport would fit better in Action Before he becomes powerful
DCnU Superman villains
@SandMan_: We hope that he may hear our request and bring it back. What about Solomon Grundy or Dr. Hammilton as ruin?
@sethysquare: I did not know that he would appear in issue 0, but it appears as a unit or a type of android?
@sethysquare: Agreed with bring,Bloodsport back because I like him,but with the appearance of Nimrod this isn't possible anymore.
Insect Queen? no no

@matchesmalone21: Honestly Grundy should be more of a vertigo style and a Swamp Man villain.
Well they did meet once or twice :p
BB
@Dernman: Indeed, as they have shown a certain connection but after years of getting used to see him fight with Superman and among others, is hard to see such a transition of enemies.
@SandMan_: Agreed and also think that DC should have an open channel for the fans give their suggestions directly to the writers

Solomon Grundy is already in Earth 2. Dr Emil Hamilton would be pretty cool. But lets hope writers use his properly.
And yeah, they're supposed to be a unit or something. I believe its the same as the "Kon-El" we were teased a few issues back in Superboy.

Why not? Just because they're similar doesn't mean we can't use them. LOL.

@sethysquare: That's right Eradicator.... Why not?
I dunno, I just feel like the magic world should be contained in the magic world.

@matchesmalone21: There used to be an Ask Lobdell questions here...
Can we search for that thread? I was hoping there could be a ask lobdell questions segments here, as well as voice our thoughts regarding what we hope to see and all.
@sethysquare: I did not know that he is on earth two, it makes sense, as Solomon Grundy was an primary enemy of a Green Lantern (Alan Scott). I prefer Dr. Hammilton as a villains than a simple helper, Greg Ruck did a great job turning it into a villain,It's like people say sometimes the greatest enemies are our best friends.
It is because they are very similar and its need something big to distinguish them

I would love to see him turn into a villain as well. But hopefully he could turn back into a non villain. Do this anti-hero thing.
@matchesmalone21: Yeah, that'll sound fun. I think DC should hire all of us and we can give them all these great ideas. LOL
@sethysquare: LOL,certainly should have a way to apply for a job opening there, even if as an advisor
@Lvenger: Yups we talked about Blaze, Hellsport and Satanus alr.
But not Vartox. LOL.
But yeah, Vartox need a major costume upgrade. I just cant take him seriously with that thigh high boots and gold underwear
haha
Hopefully
Mr.Mxy is the little man.

@sethysquare: I guess even aliens have fashion sense.
@SandMan_: Is this just what you hope or has it been confirmed in Action Comics? I have the same suspicion as well.
Its what @SandMan_ hopes for LOL. Its also what I hope for actually.

I'd like to see Metallo revamped to a mainstay. His uberbot body and added kryptonite heart poses a an actual, significant threat to Superman. He just needs some characterization that actually makes him something other than a mook. Both Johns and Morrison established him as an army officer serving under Lane (And BTW, have I mentioned how much I really really really hate General Lane) and being involved in an experiment, and honestly, I fail to see anything anything interesting in that version. He's just a Glenn Talbot in a big ass suit.
I had an idea about Metallo as an adrenaline junkie before the transformation. Fast cars, parachuting, beautiful women, risky situations, he's the man always looking for the next high, enjoying life to the fullest, taking in everything it has to offer. Then something happens to him. He's injured, he's forced into an experiment, it doesn't matter. his mind is placed into the Metallo body. Suddenly, he is trapped inside this cold metal shell and has no power to feel anything. The robotic body has no sense of touch, no adrenaline boost, no emotional connection with anything he does. He used to enjoy every aspect of life, and now he can't do anything. He feels like he's a guy constantly playing a video game. Nothing has any importance to him anymore. It's torture and it drives him mad. He desperately wants it to end, he wants to die, but the robot has an in built defense system that kicks in every time he's in danger and keeps him alive. Unable to kill himself, he turns to the only being powerful enough to defeat the robot's defense system and end his life: Superman.
Superman refuses of course, reasoning that he can still be helped, So Metallo becomes a vile criminal to make him do it. Helped by his cold, calculating computer body Metallo will kill, he will destroy, he will slaughter, he will threaten everyone close to Superman and he will push Superman further and further just to get him mad enough to actually end his life. This Metallo would test Superman's resolve, his willingness to stand to his principles, his morality at denying death to someone who is clearly suffering, and he would present a nice contrast to Superman.
The Man of Steel is known for his boundless compassion and love for everyone and anyone around him. Metallo has no compassion, because his metal body won't let him have any. It won't let him see the world through the eyes of a human, just a cold, heartless, amazingly powerful robot, and he's suffering for it. Metallo is an actual Man of Steel. But he doesn't want to be.
Thoughts?
You're confusing the ability to physically feel with the ability to emotionally feel. While there are certainly physical stimuli that affect our emotional responses, to take all of that away for a character would be kind of pointless. What's the point of having a human mind in a cybernetic shell if it only acts like a computer? Also, how does he not feel compassion, but does feel the urge to die, and the urge for revenge? If he's going to act like a computer, the most efficient thing to do is walk into a volcano and call it a day.
I could see the adrenaline junkie angle, driven mad because he can't physically feel, but if he can feel tortured, suicidal, vengeful, murderous, etc., he should be able to feel compassion, love and all the good stuff as well. I could completely see insanity holding most of the good stuff at bay, but not eradicating it entirely. The human brain in Metallo is his fatal flaw, as it should be. If it just acts as a computer driving the machine, then there's no reason for the brain to be there, when it could be replaced by an actual computer. In that case, Metallo would be a DC Ultron, as he was for so long, when looking for other power sources besides his missing kryptonite heart.
So basically, I like your idea, except that I think he should have the full range of emotions. Nice idea for why he's always challenging Superman. Back when he lost the kryptonite heart, he suddenly didn't make sense as a Superman foe. Still fighting Supes because he's the only one who can destroy him would make sense. The constant Ulton-like upgrades would make sense too, if it's the 'bot body automatically upgrading itself to protect itself against Superman. And hey, best upgrade to fight Superman is a kryptonite power source. ;)

both great accounts. I do like the story atphantom came up with, but I would agree that he should have an emotional feel towards it.
