CW's "Superman and Lois"

I liked what little I saw of Cryer's Lex (so COIE and some scattered scenes on yt). Excellent whenever the script wasn't actively working against him at least.

Not being able to use mainline Lex could allow the show to spotlight different villains... but probably not, if they haven't changed that plot point from the leaked pilot. We'll see.

Fandome panel:

-The Kents move back to Smallville after a big tragedy occurs in Metropolis

-Lois and Clark explore the idea of just how well you can be at your job while dealing with the emotional duress of your kids

-There is 'so much needed of Superman' that the question is asked 'when DO you turn it off?' 'how do you scale back the effort you've made for the world to spend time with your family?'

-There will be no Lois/Clark/Lana triangle, Clark will not have an affair, Lois and Lana won't get into catfights.

-There will be more of a love triangle involving Lois and Clark's boys with Lana's daughter

-Sam Lane and Lois' relationship is a little 'fraught'

-Lots of heroics, but also plenty of teamwork, Lois pursuing a different kind of enemy, she and Clark are an 'unstoppable force'

Wish they hadn't aged the boys. It would have been more interesting seeing them dealing with stuff as new parents. Plus no teenage angst is always better lol

There doesn't seem to be any confirmation as to why it's getting cancelled, but speculation is ratings. I haven't looked at the numbers, but the CW has always had a very low bar one has to jump for ratings to get renewed. SOme shows even go under a million viewers at times, and the still get renewed. The new Superman show probably added to the fire. As for how I feel about it? Ehhh, good ridance. It was a bad show that lacked an identity that wasn't Clark Kent but a girl. But, that's just my opinion. A 6 season 100+ episode run is nothing to sneeze at, and the crew can at least hold their heads high for that.

Melisa also gave birth to a child recently so that'll have been a factor.

If that were the case, I assume she would said so, but I did think before reading any articles that that would have been the case. She may be demoted to someone on the CW guest star roster, where she can appear on any show now. Or she can at least now be a supporting character on the new Superman show.

Trailer looked great. CW shows tend to fall off after about 2 seasons, but before that? I'm excited for this.

Daniel Cudmore to play "Subjekt-11" in Superman & Lois

If that really is Subjekt-17 from Busiek's run, then that'd make me very happy.

That trailer was surprisingly solid. That being said, the bar was super low, and still is, so maybe that's why it impressed me. I'll at least be checking out the pilot.

It's just a really douchey thing for a middle class white kid to wear.

The leaked script turned out to be real after all. I've got my problems with the episode (namely, the writing for Lana's daughter, though the actress does everything in her power to sell it), but overall loved it. Excited for next week.

I gotta say I was really impressed with the premier. Have alot hopes for the series.
