I don't like this cover. Other than his eyes being very intimidating, the rest of him looks too frail. Its almost as if Miles Morales was under the mask here.
I thought about picking up that one when it comes out, due to the cover. (referring to the kissing one) But I have no money.

After having plenty of time to think about this I'll be getting the first issue of Superior if only to get an idea on where this train wreck will go. After that though? Screw it. My thoughts on this entire debacle as a whole? Only one eight words fully describe what I think
i think if anyone would find out that peter is not himself it would be mary jane.....she would know somethings off her face in that pic looks shocked i never got spiderman 700 because my comic book store had 20 copies and they were all sold out
why does Spiderman on the front page look so stout? I get that Doc Ock probably has worse eating habits than Parker ... but they couldnt have waited a few issues before making a stout Spider Man? Its just not realistic. :p
Everyone, I managed to come across a copy of the first issue Superior Spider-Man #1 , please don't ask me how. and please DO NOT ask or expect me to put spoilers, images of clips from the book. But I felt I had to say something after reading it, and only after staring at the issue for hours deciding whether or not to read it.
Dan Slott has definitely redeemed himself, maybe not fully but enough for me to reconsider reading future books.

Redeemed himself? More like dug himself deeper into a hole if you ask me. 700 was this supposedly really big thing, but he can't committ to it for even a single issue?
I didn't like the story he told with the end of ASM, but if he had stuck it out longer and not dangled the return of Peter in the very first issue of Superior, then at least you could make the claim that he had integrity with this new direction.
But no. Now he wrote what I personally would consider a bad, tasteless, story with the end of ASM, and lacks the conviction to stick to his guns. The reveal of "Soul-Peter" just reeks of bad storyplanning. Much too soon to let the impact of 700 settle.
One thing I just don't get is the people that go "See! We all knew he'd be back!" and I immediately have to go "Uh, yeah. So?" It's not the "fact" that Peter died (or whatever) that was the issue (at least for me) it was how it was handled.
From what I've seen I won't be regretting the choice to drop Spider-Man from my reading list.
@inkBot: I agree. 700 was poorly written and poorly handled. And anyone who thought this was permanent was just silly. This issue has done nothing to change my opinion of the matter and I'm baffled by the people who think this somehow makes things better. To be fair though I'm pretty baffled by the people who say 700 was well written too.
